Is it really in a stainless steel drum?

Definitely NOT a stainless steel drum, unless it's 409SS (highly doubt) in that the magnet sticks to the drum.

So living in a rural area, if I buy two drums does the freight charge double or will it be the same as buying one barrel?

Freight should remain the same as they are both shipped on the same skid, we order 3 at a time and the freight remains the same. I would double check with the seller to verify.
