Awesome Klipsch Subwoofer!
Personally, I have always liked the great sound, quality, unique "copper" look, and relatively low cost of Klipsch speakers. This great R-120SW subwoofer is no exception. This subwoofer was delivered well packed, and in perfect condition. This subwoofer also works perfectly with absolutely no 60hz ground-loop hum, distortion, cone snaps, crackles or pops, or chuffing out of the rear port. This subwoofer also runs cool even when pushed to higher volumes for extended periods. Overall, I am very impressed with this subwoofer. I am sure it will last many years, just like all of the rest of Klipsch's great products. I purchased this subwoofer to replace a (still working great after 12 years) Pioneer Andrew Jones Designed SW-8 subwoofer. I was just looking for a little more low-end frequency for movies and music, and boy does this Klipsch subwoofer deliver. The 100 watt, 8" Pioneer subwoofer only produced frequencies down to 36hz, while this much larger and higher powered Klipsch subwoofer goes down to 29hz. I now hear and feel bass I had previously been missing with the Pioneer subwoofer. My main home theater system now consists of 5 (also 12 years old) original Pioneer Andrew Jones Designed speakers (2 floor, 2 rear surround, and 1 center channel), this Klipsch subwoofer, a Denon AV receiver, and a Samsung 4K 65 inch OLED television, and they all work seamlessly together. I recently upgraded the stock, weak tweeters in the otherwise great Pioneer speakers, with Goldwood GT-520 silk dome horn loaded tweeters, and that made a huge difference in balancing all of the frequencies from high to low. The tweeter upgrade, along with The addition of this subwoofer, really completed the sound I was looking for, as the Pioneer speakers sound great, but tend to be a bit midrange focused, out-of-the-box. This Klipsch subwoofer is really easy to setup. Unpack it, place it in a corner, plug in a good quality shielded subwoofer coax cable from the sub-out RCA jack on the back of the AV receiver to the white LFE RCA jack on the back of the subwoofer. Then plug in the power cable, turn on the AV receiver and subwoofer, and wallah, there is bass. I have the gain set to just past half way (after using the AV receiver speaker calibration), the crossover set to LFE, the phase at zero, and the power to auto. I initially ran the auto speaker calibration setup in the Denon AV receiver to match the sound to all 6 speakers, and it did a great job. I have the subwoofer and all of the speaker crossovers set to 80hz, per THX standards. The subwoofer is also set to "LFE+Main" in the AV receiver, so it works equally well with movies, TV, and music. It's hard to describe how amazing this home theater setup looks and sounds now with this new Klipsch subwoofer. The only "drawback" I would say this subwoofer may have is that there are no high-level in/out speaker connections for connecting it to an older amp, or a small portable amp, using standard speaker wires. However, that omission won't really affect most users. I highly recommend this excellent Klipsch subwoofer for anyone looking to build or upgrade a home theater and/or music stereo system. The retail price of this subwoofer (and all Klipsch speakers in general) may be a bit steep for some individuals' budgets, but Klipsch speakers are ALWAYS on sale, and steeply discounted everywhere. However, In my humble opinion, you really can't go wrong with Klipsch products at any price. Buy this great subwoofer now! No, wait, buy 2 when you find them at a great low price!

CLEAN, ACCURATE, DYNAMIC RESPONSE - EXTENDS WELL BELOW 30 HERTZ.
Deep, powerful bass that extends well below the 29 hertz frequency response listed in the specifications as suggested by Klipsch. I reluctantly ordered only (1) R-120SW subwoofer to pair with my set of Klipsch's The Nines. (I'm so done with soundbars and wanted a relatively simple yet well rounded setup for my living room. The Nines are absolutely amazing and I have zero regrets for "only" going with a 2.1 stereo setup using HDMI ARC from my 75" display for movies and gaming with my kiddo.) I use every input available on The Nines since they perform double duty as our family room cinema audio and for music; the phono, USB for direct connection to my phone and optical input for a CD drive. I'm getting off-point, but The Nines are just unbelievable... So as I said earlier, I only purchased (1) R-120SW for two reasons. Firstly, I wanted to know how it sounded in my room. Secondly, I was unsure whether or not only (1) subwoofer would be enough to seamlessly blend with the stereo image provided by The Nines. I'm certainly glad I only bought (1). This thing gets down low-low for a single ported 12" subwoofer, and sounds damn good for a relatively inexpensive unit. Accuracy and clarity are both above average for a sub at this price point. Maybe I just got lucky with the room I'm using it in, but I'll take it. I've set the low-pass at around 80 hertz, which overlaps well with The Nines. The sound blended seamlessly with the gain set just a bit below half way, and I can control the subwoofer level with the Klipsch application for The Nines. The R-120SW provides immersive, accurate and powerful bass response without being boomy or muddy, and at a great price. The enclosure is well made and measures out to be around 2 cubic feet of volume. As with any rear ported enclosure, this subwoofer performs best when moved away from the wall by several inches. Worth the $300 price point.

Well worth the price
This sub looks super clean in the living room, fits right next to my TV stand and speakers. Eventually it'll be easy enough to move to the corner for the best sound. Seems very well made, and nothing has broken yet after months of heavy use. Has a fantastic sound and was super easy to set up, it was instantly compatible with my current Yamaha receiver and speaker setup. Awesome price to shake the house lol.

Huge Bass for the Money If You Set It Up Right
Iāve been using the Klipsch R-120SW in a small to medium room and it delivers serious impact for the price. It digs into the high 20 Hz range and really shines with deep bass tracks and movies. When set up properly with balanced gain, it stays tight and controlled even when the cone movement looks dramatic. This is a fun, powerful ported 12 inch sub designed to move air. If you push dirty signal into it, it will sound sloppy. Feed it clean signal and it hits hard and stays composed. Great output per dollar, strong room feel, and perfect if you want deep bass without spending high end money.

Worth every penny!
I did a lot of shopping around and eventually found this sub. It works incredible! Very deep bass. Really knocks hard if you turn it up! I only had the gain up halfway and my TV volume on 15 and it was shaking the doors and windows in my house š worth every single penny!

powerful subwoofer that completes the system
Iāve been running the Klipsch Rā120SW as the lowāend foundation of my 5.1 setup, paired with Rā50M fronts, an Rā50C center, and Rā40M surrounds. Out of all the components, the sub is the one that immediately changes the character of the system, and the Rā120SW brings a level of impact that ties everything together without feeling bloated or sloppy. The 12 inch driver moves a lot of air, and you can feel it in action scenes and bassāheavy soundtracks. What I appreciate most is that it doesnāt just deliver loud rumble. It has enough control to keep bass notes distinct, especially once you dial in the gain and crossover. In my room, setting the crossover around 80 Hz and letting the Rā50M handle the upper bass created a smooth handoff that felt natural. As part of the full system, the Rā120SW fills in exactly what the smaller speakers canāt reach. The Rā40M surrounds are great for effects but obviously donāt have deep extension, and the Rā50M fronts benefit from having the heavy lifting taken off their plate. With the sub doing the lowāend work, the entire setup sounds more open and balanced. Itās worth noting that this sub is physically large. Make sure you have the floor space for it and that youāre not tucking it into a cabinet or corner that will choke the output. Placement matters a lot with a sub this size, and a little experimentation goes a long way. Build quality is solid, and the cabinet feels sturdy enough to handle the driverās movement without rattling. If I had to point out a drawback, itās that the sub can overpower the room if you donāt take the time to calibrate it. Out of the box, it leans toward the enthusiastic side, so expect to spend a few minutes adjusting levels to get the best blend with the rest of your speakers. Once dialed in, the Rā120SW adds depth, weight, and excitement to the system. Itās a strong performer that rounds out a 5.1 setup very effectively and brings the kind of cinematic low end that smaller subs just canāt match.

Amazing
I wanted it to work for home theater and music, which seems like a tall order judging by subwoofer reviews, I chose this one due to reviews and it is the most amazing thing ever. Iām writing this hoping it will help someone like me. I bought a Klipsch R-120SW and a Denon AVR-S570BT (Denon connected via eArc to Apple TV), on some sales, and the sub didnāt work at first with a Y cable. I bought the Mediabridge ultra one because I saw other reviews saying it is great. But the sub only put out some deep sound when something crashed in a movie and I had no music sound from it. I wondered if I was using the wrong cable, because the sub manual told me to only use a single ended cable for L-LFE plug. But when I googled deeper, even Klipsch suggested that a Y cable would give me the best sub sound (even though the 3 page sub manual did not say this). So I kept this cable and found info on an āadvanced settingā in the Denon. I changed LFE to āLfe + mainā and now everything works, music, tv, all of it. The sound is awesome and perfect. There are other settings you can tweak to your liking in the denon, to change the audio, but I havenāt needed to. I did some tuning with the low pass and gain on the back of the sub to get it perfect and I walked away. No buzz, no hum, just clear, perfect, well rounded bass which made my old, tiny center and side speakers sound like an expensive system with clear mids and full sound as well. You canāt even tell itās coming from the sub. Iām kind of in shock. Awesome resonant, full, floor thumping bass for rap, hip hop, also perfectly transitions for classical, swing, country, r&b etc. We love all kinds of music and this does it all with power to spare. And when something destroys a building in a move, the floor and couch shake with clear, perfect sound. No near neighbors to annoy. But if I turned up the knobs even a hair on the sub, the far neighbors will also hear my perfect bass. Ten stars if I could, Iām so glad it all worked so over the top.

Great price for Klipsch 12" sub for the home theater,
So far so good! when my old 10" Klipsch sub died of a power supply buz hum then a fuse pop. This 12" sub version has my Home Theater back up and sounding great again at a great price. Love that it turns itself on and off automatically
