You might think you can configure it via an onboard routine but in reality you have to plug it in to an existing PC via an ethernet lead then set the ip address of that ethernet port to the one in the documentation and then you change the ip address to one suitable for your home network. Easy when you work it out but you shouldn't have to work it out - the instructions should be clear!
