VW03B Compatible with Select 2002 and up Volkswagen Power/Speaker Connector / Wire Harness for Aftermarket Stereo Installation with Color Coded Wires

It does wire up nicely, and works with the factory speakers perfectly. No modification necessary. There is one catch, though. I have a MK5 2006 Jetta, and there is no ignition power source on this harness, since the OEM stereo is turned on with logic from the CAN-BUS. So, the stereo will not turn off when you first install it and plug this in. You will have to cut the ign source power wire, and wire it to another source. I found one in the fusebox and used a piggy-back fuse for it. Now it turns on and off with the key.

Got this for my Mercedes Sprinter work truck. Added a new stereo and didn't want to cut into any factory wiring. This harness includes every single wire that could possibly be attached, in fact way more wires then there were on my factory harness which is fantastic because no matter what it'll have what you need. I just tore out all the wires I didn't need so I didn't have to tape them up or have them in the way. Either way worked out great

Scosche needs to change the model designation for this part because once I got this all soldered up and attempted to install and couldn't figure out how to connect the male end from the radio to the female connection I couldn't figure out the orientation. Upon returning to the packaging and seeing that it was a VW part number I started the return/refund process and cut the completed harness apart. Upon inspection of the radio's connector I found out that it was actually the same connections, resoldered the harness, installed, and it works fine. VW is a horrible designation for 01-12 euro models when multiple brands are included

This harness comes ready to be crimped to another harness, what I like about this is that it came with a color-coded diagram of what each Color cable does and what wired to. The only thing that bothered me what is that it was missing a few cables and replaced with the brown cables and according to the diagram the brown cables were ground so I grounded them and it started to give me problems in my car so all the brown cables that come on the harness just cut them off take them off or something they don’t do anything, especially ground them. Here we go again...I bought a sweet Passat wagon with a stock cd player. Don't get me wrong the preamp and everything sounded great, but it did not have an Auxiliary input, and as we all know it is 2012 an CDs are just not cutting it anymore. I purchased a new deck through Crutchfield and was ready to install it and listen to those sweet sweet MP3s. Those German's know how to discourage you from altering their vehicles. I came to find that I needed this special attachment. As I searched throughout the internet, the solution was buying a similar connector that cost ~$100. I was not ready to drop that much more money on this endeavor. I came across this alternative and read that the only problem is that in order for the new deck to power on and off with the car I would have to rewire something or other to the battery and the ellipses started to roll...and the eyes started to roll to the back of my head...and I decided whatever. After I got the part, it was very easy to install, just a few color coded wire connections and then plug the connector into Volkswagen's connector and abracadabra I was listening to some lovely MP3s. I still have to Manually power on and off my new deck, but it is definitely not as bad as dropping a lot more money than I have.

Solid connector, nice big gauge on the wires. When I plugged it into my 2008 Jetta the stereo would not ever turn off, this is not a problem with the wiring harness it is a problem on the VW side. There are lots of forum discussions about it but in short there isnt any wire on the Jetta wiring side that turns on and off with the ignition, you will need to run it from somewhere else (I got it from the Cig Lighter plug right below the stereo)

I ordered for my daughters 2005 mini cooper s, I have installed many stereos in my life so i have experience. First off if there is needed information about the car such as the car has an HK sound system factory you need this or that, or do you need steering wheel control wiring so on and so forth. Now the radio I have cant be installed and I have a useless wiring harness in my bench stock. If you are messing with a euro car I suggest you go to crutchfield or some other car audio company to ensure you get the right stuff.

Not what I ordered. Took ages to come in the post, was listed as 2002+ vw wiring harness but I got one for a chrysler. Found a better product at Halfords for 9 pounds!

Works as expected, no complaints. Very straight forward, colour coded. Connects directly to the OEM wire harness so I didn't have to cut into mine.

Awesome product worked great.. Don't use the 3 brown wires or red in the kit and you will be alright , wire there's to the 25 amp windshield wiper fuse and everything will work key on/running and you will have no issues ...
