If there are any bees and you just try to pull it off, you could definitely fling them into your face or make them mad by flinging them anywhere when the plastic goes "Boooiiinnggg!".We have to take a lot of time scraping under it, across all the frames and the edges of the boxes to get it free before we can pull it off.I'm considering a metal one, hoping to prevent the springing "boing", but it does the job. About 1.5 months later, i added a super to my third hive with crappy old super frames that needed to be cleaned up, but not with the queen excluder. This hive was started as a nuc (along with the other two hives) on the same day and i was pleased to see that WITHOUT the queen excluder, the cleaned the frames, and stored a bunch of honey up there.
