4" x 4" Sunprint Kit

Got this for my grandmother who is really into plants and art. This was much cheaper online than the one I found in store and so glad I found it. You get so many little papers and the size of them is pretty good. The quality and color capture is also great. She had so much fun picking flowers from her garden and sun printing them!

I got these for the winter holiday break to try get creative while hanging out with kids obsessed with their phone screens. We looked for objects we could find around grandparents house - including seaweeds from the FL beach walk, vegetation around the house, and items in the refrigerator and exposed them to the sun. A bit tricky to get the right amount of sunlight (in Florida it was very easy to overexpose and ruin a few sheets of sunprint paper) and get it fast enough to a sink to rinse out. Overall it got the creativity going and a fun creative process - perhaps for for grown ups than for kids.

Purchased for a craft activity with 5-year-old. Using in afternoon winter sun - 31 deg N latitude. Only tried a few exposures at 30 min and they turned out fine. Interesting shadow image because of sun’s low position.

I bought this to try out with my 3 year old. I've seen it all over the Waldorf world and I wanted to incorporate it into our summer solstice celebration to add an element of the sun to our festivities. Overall, I like the concept of this paper, but I agree with some of the other reviewers - it really needs a heavier weight to press down on the flower/leaf. We used some ferns and bulkier flowers and the images just weren't as obvious as I had hoped. Next time we pull this out I'm thinking of using a glass baking dish instead of the plastic square that's included. Or even pressing the flowers in the morning beforehand. My toddler was able to help with the entire project though, which I'm always grateful for. Very easy instructions for independent little people!

So easy, fun, and a great product!

We are going to take this camping with a 7 yr old. Nature hunt, to find items, and then back to camp to make the magic!! This gives you quick results and a good activity for kids.
