This is a great backpack for the purpose, making quick errands to the store a breeze. It's spacious and comfortable and I suspect it is waterproof given the construction. But I've not yet tested that feature. The straps are comfortable. I recently had a gallon jug of oil, a filter and some tools in it, and the weight was not an issue. I can easily see this bag carrying more weight on my shoulders comfortably.
