Replaced 20 year old version
I had hardwired alarms installed in my house and they started to go bad after 20+ years. I called First alert to see if they still made a compatible model. The recommended this model and I purchased six of them. I was astonished how easy they were to change and had all of them installed in less than half an hour. The green light is very dim and not a nuisance in a dark room. The alarm is loud enough to wake anybody at night. They have not gone off yet but so far they are a winner.

Simple Installation, Economical
I replaced my old alarms with this 6 pack, it's perfect because my house had 6 of the same make and model, 2 screws and a plug in is all it took. An electrician quoted me $2200, I asked if he was out of his mind! I did it myself for less than $100
