Jersey-Knight 25 Live Asparagus Bare Root Plants -2yr-Crowns from Hand Picked Nursery

I ordered these 2-year asparagus crowns in early spring. They were strong, healthy roots. They grew amazingly well! Throughout the summer they have kept growing more stalks. Each root has easily produced 15-20 perfect asparagus stalks! I have ordered several products from Hand Picked Nursery in the last few years, always with great quality!

Only one bare root survived from last year —I won’t purchase again.

They shipped a couple extra in case any didn't thrive. 34/35 of the ones we planted grew nicely! I kept the extras in the fridge to plant later in case this happened (like I said they had a few extra in case). This is their first year, so no harvesting for us yet. Some spears rocketed up several feet, some are smaller, and I put a picture of one in their lovely fern-y stage as it feeds the roots for next year. These crowns were much much cheaper than our local nursery, who was out of stock when we tried anyway. Great seller, highly recommended.

Well packaged and arrived quickly. The roots look healthy and great! No rotting or bad smells. They smelled like some good dirt :) I think it would be fair to say that if they don’t survive, it would be my fault. They are all planted so hopefully we have some good results. I wasn’t sure about buying them from a seller thru Amazon b/c I normally buy thru the catalogs we receive in the spring but I figured I may as well give it a try. I am very pleased.

I finally got my order but two of the roots were moldy. They stunk really bad. I planted them anyway and im hoping for the best.hank you for sending them. Just tjought i would let you know the quality.

All have seemed to come up after planting. Mostly all nice 2 year Heavy roots., a few light weights but they did all come up. Planted in Trench with my Troybuilt III Rototiller furrower attachment.,limed and fertilized.

These asparagus crowns arrived very quickly. They are beautiful, fat, long healthy crowns. I ordered too early for my zone, but I didn't want to miss out. I left them in their packaging on the back porch (unheated)for a few days and checked them. They were starting to mold. So I rinsed them, re-wrapped them in wet paper towels and put them in the refrigerator, so I could prepare my raised bed. They are in the ground, under a cold frame. There were at least 10 extra crowns. They looked great going into the ground. If they don't make it, that will be my fault...I live in zone 6 and it's early March. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

Only 4 of 25-32 sprouted. Spindly little scrawny twigs now 12" talk. Abysmal performance. And they arrived moldy
