Very comfortable right out of the box. I cannot abide a zippered boot. I love everything about them... except...the rubber toe cap. Why the weird contour? A full width toe cap would not only work better over the life of the boots, but it would look much cleaner. IMHO Appear well constructed, with a very aggressive tread pattern. (I'd have no trouble tracking someone wearing these boots...lol). Can't speak to the longevity of the rubber compound, or course. The "pull loops" at the heel are wide and look sturdy. If the boots hold up like some of the reviews state, I can live with the toe looking like it's missing a piece.
