Good product
My husband and I work outside in the yard a lot and this stuff works. The smell is amazing and not unpleasant at all. It helps ease the pain but I wish it lasted longer.

Great for pain
Oh my goodness. I absolutely love this lavender scented Icy Hot. Roll on works great for my shoulder that has a rotator cuff injury, CRPS, and is just sore. I’m almost out and will definitely be purchasing this again.

Fast relief and super easy to apply
This roll on works really well when I need quick relief for sore muscles. I like how easy it is to apply without getting it all over my hands, and the cooling followed by the warming sensation feels really soothing on tense areas like my back, shoulders, and legs. It dries fairly quickly, is convenient to keep around the house, and has become one of those products I reach for often

As Advertised
Okay, after reading all the reviews here, I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to try this. It was on sale, so I decided to give it a shot. I put it on about 10 minutes ago, and here’s my honest take so far: it is nowhere near as bad as the 1-star reviews make it out to be. Smell: Yes, it smells like lavender—but it’s not overpowering and doesn’t make everything you touch reek. Now, if you’re a guy heading out to a bar, you probably don’t want to smell like lavender any more than you want to smell like Ben-Gay, so don’t use it then. It’s called “nighttime recovery” for a reason. This is medicine, not cologne. That said, the scent isn’t strong, and women would probably find it more pleasant. Some people are just more sensitive to smells, so take those reviews with a grain of salt. For example, I like certain scented wax melts, but my wife says they give her a headache—everyone’s different. Stickiness: Is it sticky? No, not really—at least no more than any other topical product for back pain. It doesn’t feel wet, and my clothes aren’t sticking to it. Going back to the smell: after it “dried,” I ran my finger over the area and could still smell it on my finger, but the menthol-type scent was more noticeable than the lavender. The lavender is still there, but it’s much less obvious now—either it faded or I just got used to it. Application and Effectiveness: The roll-on made it easy to apply to my lower back. Some reviews say it’s neither “icy” nor “hot,” but I started feeling a cooling sensation after about five minutes and still feel it as I write this. There’s no heat, but the cooling effect is definitely present. My pain feels slightly numbed as a result, although I wasn’t having a major flare-up to begin with. I’d say it helps take the edge off, but it’s not a cure. Conclusion: I think it’s worth trying. It’s not the miracle product some 5-star reviews claim, but it’s also nowhere near as bad as the 1-star reviews suggest—unless they received a defective product. If it works for you, buy it again. If it doesn’t, you’re only out a few bucks. Complaints about the smell, stickiness, and similar issues seem pretty overblown to me.

Instant gratification
It’s like a miracle in a bottle. I am happy I bought this. Instantly my back pain started to go away. I have muscle pain associated with autoimmune diseases and I just couldn’t bare the pain anymore. Within minutes of applying this I got relief

Better Than Prescription
I'm currently going through physical therapy for a back injury I sustained in January. My spine doctor prescribed lidocaine patches but this Icy Hot roll on works even better and brings faster relief.

Great pain reliever.
Love this, it works great. It’s very easy to use, lasts a good amount of time and helped with my pain in my back and leg. It takes a few minutes to dry depending on how much you put on. The more you put, the longer it takes. It does have a menthol scent but it’s not overpowering in my opinion. It’s typical for this type of product. I didn’t find it sticky.
