**Q: I want to use this as a freeze warning for my garage. Would like it to go off if it gets below like 42 degrees. Would this work?**

**Q: Does the Max min setting measure the highest/lowest temp during a set period of time? If so what is that time? 24 hours?**
A: It measures the max/min temperature since you last reset it.

**Q: Must I drill a hole in my freezer to use this item?**
A: I routed the cord in back and underneath and ran it up thru the freezer drain hole .

**Q: The definition of out probe and in probe are vague. if i'm using this in the freezer is the in probe?= freezer &  out probe? room temp?**
A: We have our control display on the outside of the refrigerator.  The wired probe sensor is inside the refrigerator compartment and corresponds to the "out" setting.  The "in" sensor and setting is within the display so in our case reads the room temp at the outside door.  Hope that helps.

Ho acquistato questo termometro per monitorare la temperatura di un congelatore verticale e soprattutto per segnalare con l'allarme l'eventuale porta aperta. Il termometro è ben fatto, abbastanza preciso nella misurazione. L'allarme suona con pause di circa un minuto fin quando la temperatura rilevata non raggiunge il limite impostato. I got two of these, one to monitor a fridge and one a freezer. Some observations: -The interior and probe temperature are the same or very close when both the device and probe is in close proximity, so that's a good sign -When the probes of both units are put into the same area, they read very close or the same, so that's also good -There are complaints about the magnets not being strong enough. I'd say it's not that the magnets aren't strong enough, but rather the issue is the magnets are recessed behind a plastic ring and so the magnets don't directly contact the mounting surface. To fix this, I cut a rectangle out of a grippy material (like a disposable glove) and put it between the meter and the fridge surface. Stays put now. -The setpoints for the alarms must be based on Celsius because in Fahrenheit, the alarm setpoints are adjustable in increments of 1.8F. Weird, but for an alarm it's ok. Someone said you have to remove the battery to change a temperature that was set incorrectly but that's not true. I have changed the alarm temperature simply by going through the same steps in the instructions. -Some have complained about how complex it is to configure. I gave it to my 10 year old and he figured it out. I also don't believe it to be overly complex. -The beeper is not real loud, but it's sufficient. Maybe about like the volume of a countdown timer.
