I saw this tool and thought why not give it a try, the price is right, and it has a nice base. Even if the indicator gauge is no good, I've got a usable base for my other gauges. Well, I love this thing! After running a few tests on some standards, I found it to be quite accurate, and it's very easy to use: no dials to turn, zeros out with the push of a button, and it seems to be durable. Time will tell if it performs, but so far so good. Also, it's much easier for these old eyes to read! The magnetic base works great! The magnet is strong, and it is very stable. I'm presently using it to turn an MT1 wood lathe taper. The dimensions are dead on.
