I bought one in 2013 and kept it 6 months before I ate it. It had not been opened, and it tasted as fresh as any others that I had 6 months before. If you are going to keep one for a while, don't open it. Keep it in the wrapper and box it comes in. I have one right now that I am going to keep for July 4th!!
