RUGPADUSA - Dual Surface - 2'6" x 8' - 1/4" Thick - Felt + Rubber - Non-Slip Backing Rug Pad - Safe for All Floors

I bought this rug pad to go under an area rug in a high traffic part of the house, and it’s been doing exactly what I hoped. Once it was down, the rug stopped sliding around and stayed flat, even with people walking over it all day. The felt is thick enough to add some cushioning without making the rug feel bulky. It actually made the rug feel nicer to walk on and helped a bit with noise too. I also like that it didn’t have any smell when I opened it and didn’t leave marks on the floor. It was easy to cut to size and lay down, and it’s stayed in place since. For something you don’t really think about once it’s installed, it’s been solid and hassle free.

To keep my rugs in place on a hardwood floor, I had been using a couple of different versions of rug tape and while they were fine, I didn't like that I had to basically re-install the tape each time I wanted to clean under the rug. I got this rug pad as a test for one of my rugs and I'm very happy with it. I did have to trim about an inch off one of the shorter sides in order for it to fit perfectly with my rug, but that was quite simple and we just used a regular pair of desk scissors to do the trimming. This pad is doing a very nice job of keeping the rug in place - one of the things I did not like about the tape options was that two of our rugs are a thinner material and you could move the rug anywhere the tape was not applied. This pad solves that issue perfectly. It also gives us a little padding which we obviously didn't have before. And now when I want to clean underneath the rugs, I simply have to fold them over or roll them up. Long story short, I will be replacing the rug tape with these pads on my other rugs.

No prolonged smell. We have had it for 8 months with no issues. Our rug does not slip or curl, and it adds just enough cushion.

This is an excellent rug pad, with rubber on the bottom and felt on the top. However, it absolutely gives off a very sour, off-putting smell. I almost returned it, but after a call to their customer service, who assured me that what is off-gassing is non-toxic, and to "give it a couple of weeks", we decided to keep it, because I didn't think we'd find a better alternative that wouldn't off-gas, and we appreciate that it's a made in the USA product. I will also mention that we purchased a very large rug pad (11x15), which probably contributed to smell lingering longer than expected because we didn't really have room to open it up somewhere else to let it air out before putting the rug and furniture down. As anyone who has ever tried getting a large rug set using one of those flimsy, perforated rubber "pads" knows, it's nearly impossible to align, with lumps and bumps everywhere. This pad rolled out flat, stayed put, and made it ridiculously easy to place out very large rug, with no wrinkles. We put our 12 x 15 Loloi rug down and it was perfect without any adjustments (a first!). This was the 1/8" pad for our thin rug, and it keeps the rug in place, with a bit of cushioning underfoot, but doesn't sit up so high as to create a "curb" or noticeable "bump". I detracted one star, because, it's been two weeks and there is still a bit of a lingering odor (although it's definitely dissipating over time). It would be nice if they would off-gas their pads on-site, before shipping, especially for larger pads, which are very unwieldly/hard to move, and because most people don't have that much unobstructed space to open them up to let them air out before putting them under a rug and furniture (trapping said off-gas).

I had an extra Ruggable cover in a large size (10x14) and, after changing the flooring in one of our rooms from carpet to hardwood, decide to place it there. The Ruggable pad costs 2 times more than this one, so I took a chance and I’m so glad I did! It works really well! Sure it’s not a heavily used area, but definitely used daily for a bit. The rug stays in place and does not curl. Had to be cut down to size as it was considerably larger than the advertised 10x14, but it’s super easy to do. I have about 15 Ruggables of varied sizes throughout the house and have been using them for 8 years, so I say that with confidence: Would definitely buy it again!

We inherited a good wool throw rug that had been stored so long the ends were curling up, and in the front hall, we definitely needed something to prevent everyone coming in the front door from tripping over it. We got one of the 1/8" thick pads and it's great! It really holds the rug in place but without adding too much height to it. Highly recommended.

I'm very happy with it so far. Contrary to what some others have said there is NO ODOR once the pad is installed. When I first unpackaged it there was a slight "rubber" odor but it went away after maybe a day. The pad isn't very thick but don't think I want it to be too thick. I did have to trim one end by about 1.5" but used an electric fabric trimmer and it is perfect.

I have purchased from this company twice and was totally satisfied both times. Good quality and still holding up extremely well.

A good product. Be careful of the size though. The ad says 8x10 but we received a 9x12 so instead of sending it back and waiting another week and a half I just cut it to size.
