Can you drink without topper?

Yes, these can be used without the toppers, but the toppers will prevent spills.

Is the top spout like a straw or a squirt top? How do the kids drink it from the topper?

The tops do not come with these. I buy these individually or in smaller packs from target, Walmart, or grocery stores and then wash and reuse the tops with these refills. The tops are one way straws that somehow do not spill.

I've never tried to wash the bottles, but I do put the character tops in the dishwasher (top-rack). No issues so far. But I can't speak for the company, as to whether they are "officially" dishwasher safe.

These juice refills are amazing!! I already have a million different character heads my kids love to pick through. This makes it so super easy to keep a couple of them that they’re really into and store accordingly. The juice itself is very tasty. Not big on sugar drinks for kids but this and honest are the best I’ve come by. I even add a little more water should I feel it needs it- depending upon the day.
