Works great. On Linux, If you know what you're doing.
**TL;DR** - If you are using a modern linux kernel and know what you're doing, you'll fine. - Build quality is "cheap" and "crappy". - 4/5 stars does the job. --- # Compatibility Great. I'm on Ubuntu 24.04 (LTS) using the hwe kernel package (v7.0 at time of writing) to say up to date on drivers. With the property nvidia driver installed as DKMS (and fully signed with their signatures registered in the mainboards UEFI cert chain) this thing "just works" and hot plugging worked fine. That said. I already had the property nvidia drivers setup, kernel hwe setup/configured, as well as fully having everything in place to Nvidia DKMS's rebuild on kernel updates. If you haven't done that, you'll probably have a bad time. # Ease of use This is the big "if you know what you're doing". Hot plugging works fine for me because the actual GPU driving my displays is wayland with an Intel Xe2 Battlemage card. I have X-Server disabled and nvidia drivers/kernel-cli parameters explicitly state to never use an Nvidia GPU for display (I use them for ML/AI/HPC work). If you have your system setup for this, great. If you're using X-Server and nvidia drivers for display ... Good Luck Have Fun. The other "if you know what you're doing" USB-C is a mess. Modern USB4.0 fully encapsulates thunderbolt 3 and thunderbolt 4. So if your mainboard has a USB-C 40g or 80g port, great. The problem is your motherboard probably has 4 to 8 USB-C plugs and only 1 or 2 are USB-C 40g/80g ports, meaning if you just blindly plug this in, it won't work. READ YOUR MANUAL # Build Quality PSU connection is utter crap. Flat out doesn't work with most PSUs, will connect with 1 or 2 screws on some. Not great. A lot of the screw are poorly tapped so I had to really crank to get the vertical support posts in. The power supply I wanted to use can't be screwed into the base. It is "fine" everything sits on a shelf next to my tower. # Split Power This is kind of a mess. The slot is directly powered by the USB-C/Thunderbolt port. Which I don't believe can fully power all 75watt cards (as the PCIe slot should provide 75watts of power) plus the onboard USB-C/Thunderbolt/Board wiring. I'm 99% sure if the USB-C power goes to sleep the GPU will just fall-off the PCIe bus. I would be **very** surprised if Nvidia drivers/linux kernel handle this gracefully (e.g.: I expect this is a kernel panic). Didn't test it, don't want to set it, configured power settings to avoid this from occurring. Make sure the e-GPU power supply is connected to the same UPS as your power to avoid this failure condition. --- It works. Its "good enough". No real problems TBH.

Works right out of the box
Not any reviews to go on for anyone, so wanted to share that I was pleasantly surprised to see this think worked rock solid out of the box. It says it works with "all the latest NVIDIA & AMD" but I can happily report it also works with older devices. I ran an RTX 3060 on this with a 750W ATX PSU - and hooked it up to my Beelink SER8 running Ubuntu Linux and - this set up ROCKS. My use case is a faster-whisper server hooked up to home assistant, and I'm getting sub-250ms on medium.en and sub-500ms on large-v3 all over USB4 and with PLENTY of headroom for memory. I'm THRILLED that I picked this up and it worked plug & play on Linux with ZERO issues. Only thing that could be better is the PSU connector, but that's not an issue for me. It's pretty minimal and almost useless but I'll probably 3d print something that better aligns them on a tray so I'm not worried about it.

Just works
This is a quality build and setup was plug and play. I was able to fit my 3 slot 3090 FE, evga ftw3 3090, and gigabyte gaming 3090. I returned a different egpu bought on Amazon which none of my gpus fit, had no support, and was not recognized right away. The only downside was the price but I am happy with it so far.

Great portable eGPU
This is a great little eGPU enclosure. It's compact and easy to travel with, and setup was straightforward, connect it via USB4/Thunderbolt and you're good to go. A solid, portable option for anyone who wants external GPU power without lugging around a bulky enclosure.

Doesn't work with 50 series.
Seems easy to setup but it says compatible with 50 series. It is not there is an edge to the 50 series that won't let you snap it all the way down. I am debating on sending this back or using it with a different graphics card.

Very Basic TB4/USB4 eGPU Dock
As my title would suggest, this is a very basic eGPU dock. The dock overall works well, and of the USB4/TB4 eGPU options currently available, this is one of the most affordable so I can appreciate that. You will need your own PSU and I recommend a fully modular one here since you'll only need the PCIe and 24pin ATX connectors. The dock also does not charge the laptop, so you will need to supplement that with a separate charger; the dock also lacks any additional I/O beyond the eGPU functionality. This dock would pair well with a USB C monitor that provides charging, USB hub, etc. (and that is what I'm using it with now and it works very well. You just need to switch the input to DP or HDMI thats connected to the GPU and set the display settings to only display out to the GPU). Overall, I'm giving this dock a 4/5 but I otherwise would recommend it if you need an eGPU through USB4/TB4.

Dock failed, replacement working so far
UPDATE: RiiTop's customer service replied, and they offered to get a replacement dock shipped to me. It arrived today, and so far is working perfectly. The device failed within a few months. When it was working, I had no issues. It performed well and worked with a variety of GPUs from both Nvidia and AMD. Upon submitting a customer service request though RIITOP's website, they replied promptly with some things to try in order to confirm the dock was the issue. After testing their suggestions and replying that the issue was indeed the dock, they have not responded since. The last email I sent to them was on Jan. 2nd, and before that Dec. 15th. Still no reply almost a month later. I cannot recommend the product if they are not going to back it with decent customer support.

Amazing Product; Error 43 for NVIDIA can be fixed
It's an amazing product. I am using it with an RTX 5080 on Windows 11. Initially it gave the error 43 on installing the drivers, but it could be fixed using the nvidia error43 fixer from eGPU.io
