For us at Salomon, a specific women's shoe must be perfectly suitable for the morphology of the female foot: softer leg, enveloping anatomical design and Advanced Chassis ™ with lower density for greater stability. The X Ultra 4 woman adds to all this a high grip sole to face climbs and descents at full speed, making you live your 360 ° adventure thirst.

Comfortable, stabilizing and truly waterproof
Bought them just one week before a week long hiking trip to the Scottish Highlands. The hiking was relatively strenuous -- long days and steep hills. But the terrain was very wet, muddy, boggy and peaty and the boots, amazingly, kept my feet dry, my ankles stable and me upright.Best boots I have ever owned.

I thought I was bad at hiking, turns out I just had bad shoes
For three years I tried to make my Keen terradoras work. Every hike my feet would hurt, my toes pinched, and by mile 10 I'm almost in tears. Downhill was a disaster of toe, knee, and hip pain. I thought I was just bad at hiking...Then through a recommendation I got these Salomons, and my life changed.I received them on a friday, was up on a volcano on Monday.I proceeded to do 10 miles a day at the minimum for a week, climbing up and down about 3k feet a day, with ZERO foot pain. Downhill used to be a big problem for me, but I flew down the mountain. These have plenty of toe space and a very solid cushioning so you don't feel any of the uneven ground. As other people mention, they do come a bit narrow in the middle of the foot - I did two 3 mile walks before my big hikes to break them in, and I found that they loosened up a bit. They weren't uncomfortable for me in the first place, but after that they were well fitting. I actually found the middle support comforting and a way to prevent my foot from hitting the toe box.I always wear a normal width shoe, so if you ever tend towards wider shoes, then these could be a problem for you.The goretex - great for stepping into puddles. Not great for a rain downpour, as the tongue of the shoe is not waterproof. I didn't mind the quicklaces - I would have preferred normal laces, but given that the rest of the shoe is so comfortable for me, it's not a hill I'm gonna die on. The quicklaces don't allow you to really tighten the shoe, but I prefer my shoes a bit loose so the fit was fine for me.Overall, so happy I splurged on these and I'm kicking myself for not getting them sooner.

Best trail hiking shoes to date!!!
We hike trails every day since we live close by a state park. We are doing 5 miles a day. Weekends we do Mountain hiking and these by far, my feet are doing amazing after 2 time, super cushioned, grip is great in the sand and rocks, great ankle support. I had 5 month old trail runners and my foot would slip and hit the toe box, these my foot does not slip. I’m a size 10 in woman’s and in Mens a 8.5. They are perfect!!! I’ve done about 30/35 miles a week in them for the past few weeks and they are holding up great!!!
