Mine came with the bracket firmly attached to the plate. All I had to do was screw on the handle with the washer. I believe the bracket is soldered onto the plate. I have three Marshalltown stainless steel trowels and edgers yet they form rust within minutes** A: Aluminum will never rust. Theres many grades of stainless steel Stainless steel.
