Very flexible
I do enjoy the flexibility of the VFD. In my installation I have a mini lathe the DC motor failed so I purchased a 3 phase motor at 1/2 HP.I only have single phase in my shop. I do have a rotary phase converter but I wanted to try this instead. The lathe runs great. No torque issues at any speed. One thing I should note it the unit I purchased is the 5.5K VFD it's all ways better to buy a unit much larger than you need. The programming of the VFD was overwhelming at first then I realized I just needed to learn the basic steps to program and the rest is in the manual. For instance it came preset at 50Hz and I needed 60Hz. After going through everything that said 50Hz I found the setting that allowed me to change it. I believe I will buy another unit for other tools in my shop it's much quieter than a rotary phase converter.

This works great for my application. Excellent technical support.
I have a 3 phase 5 HP motor running a hydraulic pump, but I only have a single phase 220v power supply. So, I needed a VFD that could use a 220v single phase power supply to run my motor. The Mollom 7.5hp VFD does just that. My motor purrs like a kitten.I wasn't sure what parameters to use when setting up my VFD, so I reached out to he seller for guidance. I sent them a photo of my motors ID badge and general description of what the motor was powering (a hydraulic pump). They took all that information and sent me a list of parameters. Entering the parameters into the VFD was easy. Once it was wired up and programmed it worked perfectly the very first time I hit the start button. My motor sounds great and the VFD stays nice and cool. Overall I was very happy with their tech support. They made the parameter decision piece very easy. I set the parameters with confidence thanks to them!Price wise, this VFD is a smoking good deal. Brand name VFD that does the same thing costs more than double. This VFD is totally worth the money.Overall, I am a very happy customer.

Excellent VFD
I have been using this VFD for about a year or so. I bought it to power a 3 phase motor on a grist mill. I liked the idea of being able to adjust the performance of the motor so I could run the mill at a speed that was appropriate. Customer service is pretty excellent. So if you have any trouble, you can email them and they will respond usually by the next day. Installation is a little challenging as the instructions don't quite explain how to connect single phase into the VFD or how to connect the motor to the VFD. Single phase input is wired in the L an N terminals, but these could be labeled R and T. Wiring to the motor will use the U, V, and W terminals. Wire your motor for the volts you want according to the wiring diagram on the motor. Connect the motor to the VFD. Which wire goes into which terminal slot? I don't know. If it turns backwards for your then you can change the rotation in the VFD settings. You can make all kinds of adjustment to how the motor operates, such as how fast it runs, startup and slowdown speeds, and etc. Overall a good VFD.
