Can the string be removed so the chewer can be placed in the dishwasher? is the chewer dishwasher safe?

Yes it can be removed. But they only lasted a few days before my son used the second one . Personally I don’t think there strong enough for the dishwasher due to how quick my son chewed them before they started cracking .

Do they break braces?

They are rubber so they shouldn’t but anything can break braces if not careful
