How often are these to be changed?

Depends on your bird(s), including how many...probably cage size, too . We have 2 parakeets in a pretty good-sized cage, and a single parakeet in a separate cage (that’s a little smaller), and I try to change the lining in both cages once a week. But could probably go longer — these work really well, and I’m happy with them!

how many are in the box?

There are 7 in the box and we really like using them.

I want to use on top of the bottom grate to keep it cleaner. Is is safe?

If you fold over edges, it is an absorbent paper, but there is an edging in plastic, I would not want my budgies to be able to eat. They are great on the bottom, I think it would be worth a try.

Not sure why the review mentions stretch or sheerness. Sheets are white and do not stretch. These are excellent, very absorbent and make cage cleaning a snap. Easy to trim to size or fold.

I love the ease of use! I slap these on the bottom of my birds’ cages and it keeps the bottom bars clean. They’re easy to fold and slide out and they absorb any spilled water while holding strong. They’re kind of like puppy pads for birds. The texture is a little rough on the top, the absorbable bottom is a little softer. Depending on your bird, they may want to chew it! I would recommend these to owners because they make cleaning day a little easier and less messy.

Personal opinion is ….what’s the point of absorbent bird cage liners, I always use with a piece of plain paper or the bird grit sheets …this is very expensive and tbh dos t do any thing different than my usual paper or grit paper does, not I would not recommend.
