Instead, I place the water out on the counter for 24-48 hours so that it becomes room temperature. That seems to work fine! **Q: Could i use a 1l bottle? the top fits but i'm worried about salinity and ratios...** A: I've never used a 1l bottle because of d amt of brine that i need to hatch. Nevertheless i don't really see any major salinity and ratio problems if 1l is used. I've started to use actual sea water to hatch the brine and i get excellent results. Sea water is natural and i don't need to worry about my mixing ratios. **Q: how big do the shrimp get? Thanks** A: We feed ours to our jellyfish right after hatching so we do not let them get big at all. I think they can hit 1/4 inch if you let them mature. **Q: Can I kist use this in a heated 10 gallon with a filter running for airflow?** A: With brine shrimp, they are very tiny and very prone to getting sucked up into the filter. If this tank has fish in it, no, I wouldn't recommend it. Their shells get very messy and stay floating on top of the water. If this is just for brine shrimp, I guess you could. If you had a way to filter them out. If you could figure out a way to cover the tank and have a light just in one corner, maybe. They are very attracted to light so when light is around they will hang out by it. It's worth trying, but I'd imagine you would still lose a few along the way. I gotta tell you, this way is much easier than trying to rig a tank setup. If you buy 2, you will have a constant supply of food for on the cheap. Fish go crazy for these guys! You could go to the hardware store and try and build one of these setups yourself, or you might even have the stuff for it already laying around.
