Moto Edge 50 Pro Luxe Lavender 12+512

My previous phone was a Moto G100. That was still going strong. Physically the Edge 50 iPro is the same size but thinner and lighter. I'm not a fan of the curved edges. Fast performance. It latches on to a 5G signal for better browsing. Super fast charging with the 125W charger [supplied]. I reckon it's 4 to 5 percent charge per minute. I think I'm a light user, battery goes down about 25% per day. I like some of the features of Android 15. Hoping 16 has desktop mode. The main reason I got the 50 Pro instead of the 60 was because the latter doesn't support Ready For wired connection. That's where you connect your phone directly to a monitor or TV with a USB to HDMI cable. I asked Motorola support and they, 'didn't know if that feature would return.'

Does everything my old £1200 Iphone does for much less would highly recommend

I'm used Motorola Smartphones since the first Moto G, and I've never even considered any other until now; I think partly due not wanting to learn how to use another UI, it's once pure android experience, and because they were comparatively good value phones. However, this phone stopped working after 7 months: After an update, the advertised extremely fast charging that was a prime selling point, stopped (perhaps Motorola found that it was causing hardware issues, maybe causing too much heat I don't know. But a few months after the update the phone just switched itself off and wouldn't turn it back on. After some time it did turn back, but continued turning off periodically on its own without notice, sometimes immediately restarting on its own also. I did a quick factory reset, and thankfully the phone didn't turn off mid-reset, but that didn't help and the charging situation got worse, it had almost stopped charging altogether. Thankfully the phone ceased working while stile under warranty so it has been returned for a refund. So there endeth my 12+ year patronage of Motorola. Frankly the Moto Edge 50 Pro feels cheap and flimsy, even with the Aluminium border, and I have read it has only gone down hill with the 60 and 70 which are now 100% plastic. On a positive note, the Camera was a big improvement on my previous Moto G82 (which still works after 4-5 years, I forget how long I've had it), but there are better options out there if the camera quality is that important to you, I found one. The other big selling point with Motorola was the clutter free, pure Android experience. It's still there, but there is a steadily more bloat-ware that needs to be removed if you want to get back to the way Motorola was before Lenovo.
