how many pounds of actual seed is in a bag, not including filler and other ingredients

I wouldn't know how much filler it contained. It looked like all good seed and it was 50lbs in a 50 lb bag.

I have a scotts accugreen 3000 drop spreader and a lot that's approx 1/4 acre. what setting should i use to overseed a lesco yard from last fall?

NOTE: i used edgeguard broadcast spreader - check the Scott's website to correlate numbers between the two spreaders.... "lesco yard" ?? IF you are over-seeding bluegrass, then I would think it would not require a considerable amount (~4). I used a ridiculous setting (It may have actually read "ludicrous") (~14) as I was over seeding Rye/Fescue/clover :-) (i used the 50lbs for about 1/3 acre).... GREAT results, tho I would HIGHLY recommend aerating the lawn first. Feed! Water at least two weeks, everyday! I will probably be doing the same thing again this fall.

Will this grass seed grow in western New York in fall?

Most likely yes, we use it here in Northern MN for our football season. You have to water very small amounts each day to keep "moist" not doaked for 11 days to germinate after 2 weeks 1/2" twice per week is plenty.
