It worked good for about 2 months then it looked liked cracks were beginning to develop throughout the bamboo. I couldn't really tell and I thought that I was just seeing things, well just now the stupid thing just broke in half I have no idea how. I have bamboo cutting boards that have lasted longer. I didn't think that I needed mineral oil on my laptop desk. I hardly used it for my laptop, I would use it to do my class work with notebooks so my laptop was rarely on it. I have a plastic one that I got 5 years ago for Christmas that is better than this and it cost about $15. Very disappointed that I am stuck with a piece of junk that I though would last me for years. Now I have to buy something else. While $29 is not bad I expect better products for my money. buy a better product. I am more upset for the fact that this was kept on a table when not in use and was new overloaded. However the bottom part is not made well and has already torn and the stuffing is falling out. If you are not using it all the time than this is a great desk but the more you put off and on your lap the more it will tear.
