As many have noted, this dish leans heavy on the cinnamon, which is great in certain dishes. I love adding it “as is” to couscous. For chicken though, I like to pump it up with a bit of smoked paprika to give it a more savory taste. It’s a great base and allows you to adjust for your personal tastes and applications.

Finally!!! I have finally found that North African flavor I have been missing!! I dont know why McCormick discontinued the smaller jar of this that was available in grocery stores, but I'm so glad I found it here!! My husband is from Algeria and he absolutely loves this seasoning. It's the closest flavoring to what he remembers from home! We have tried other "ras el hanout" seasonings and nothing comes close to the McCormick brand! You can definitely tell they use fresh and high quality ingredients to make this seasoning!

Great flavor and freshness

while this is an american brand & not authentic, it does have a warm, very slightly spicey flavor that i like. I love that it's not salty. I prefer the large container because I use alot in my cooking whether it's sprinkled on hardboiled eggs & potatoes or added to soups, couscous, rice or rubbed on grilled steaks & chicken. it's fantastic when combined with spanish sofrito in so many dishes. I even combined it with wasabi & worstershire sauce for an awesome little kicking steak or grilled tofu. my cooking is on a journey from traditional spanish cooking to melding world flavors that wow me. this is an excellent addition. at least while they keep it affordable.

So happy to have found this since it is a discontinued item. Love the flavor it adds to any dish!
