Oily - YES. But it helps hold the hair in place, and keeps the hair from looking like you should be playing guitar in a Southern Rock Band... What is Protein 29 tho?

Wonderful stuff! Not greasy. Why isn't it sold any longer in stores?
I do 2 mi. on the treadmill every day before breakfast and so have to wash my hair daily. I hate what I call Greasy Kid Stuff. I have used Protein 29 for perhaps 40 yrs. but now cannot buy it in the stores any more.. Why? I have no idea since it's clearly the best 'hair oil' (not oily!) available. Puts everything else in the shade. I'm glad I can finally buy it at a reasonable price (free shipping!) through Amazon.

Treats hair beautifully
I have used Protein 29 for many years. I have naturally curly hair and Protein 29 helps control it and keep it neat. It makes a big difference.

never received the product. sender blamed the post office. I am filing a claim for refund. I will never purchace anything aga
I never received my product. American Wholesale Supply Network said they shipped the item on Februrary 2, 2010. When I querried the status, they told me it was shipped and was out of their hands. They later said the post office lost it and they would re-ship. I told them to re-ship but I would not pay for it again. They said they would re-ship and I would not be charged. I am still waiting for my product more than a month and one half later. I have called AMEX and told them to reverse the original charge. I will never purchase anything again online!

Oooo, that smell . . .
This hair tonic does what it says. It keeps your hair looking healthy (not oily), manageable, and with no type of residue or oil. There is, though, one big problem: it stinks like death. It smells like straight up industrial cleaner and always have to cut it with some Jeris tonic to mask the smell. If it smelled like Jeris, it would be my favorite tonic, hands down. But it doesn't so I must continue to mix it.

Good product
I wasn't able to purchase this product locally anymore so I was pleased to see it available on Amazon. I like it because it is not greasy and gives the right amount of body and sheen.
