This is yummy. I love pudding, and this has no sugar. It was super easy to make and tastes great. I also have used this in wine cake. mmmmm... Problem now is I have lymphedema, so I won't be reordering these because I want to use my daily recommended allowance, DRA, for sodium on something else... I mean it's 280 mcg or 12% DRA per serving on something that is basically a desert...

I came to Amazon to get this because the grocery store only had the "Simply Desert" brand. I tried it but it is not nearly as good as the original Jell-O brand. Jello-O is thicker, creamier and has more flavor.

When I was a kid, my grandmother used to make something called Saroma. It was a product only sold under that name in The Netherlands, as far as I know. As kids, we loved it. It was a special treat, a notch above the fruit-flavored yogurt you got as a dessert on normal nights. I could never find saromapudding in the United States until I realized that, actually, the company that sold Saroma in The Netherlands had the recipe and production process under license from Kraft, which had been selling it in the US as Jell-O instant pudding. And, better yet, Kraft now sells a sugar-free version, sweetened with an artificial sweetener. The stuff is exactly like what my grandma used to serve. And I still love it. Preparation is very simple: put one packet of powder and a pint of milk into a bowl and beat until the powder has dissolved. If the pudding does not immediately set, you don't need to keep beating. You can just wait until the setting gets going. For mysterious reasons, sometimes the pudding sets immediately, and sometimes it takes 5 minutes. Do not eat the pudding before it sets; it will be slightly bitter. You can use an electric mixer to make this pudding, but it's really overkill. Competing brands, such as the Walmart store brand, that imitate this stuff often have powders that clumps together and does not dissolve properly. While I am normally quite aggressive about at least trying out the store brand for every brand name product that I use (9 out of 10 times it's just as good), there are a few exceptions where I have convinced myself that the name brand really is better, and this is one of them. Amazon ships these in convenient cartons. They have a shelf life of pretty much forever, so if you have a little storage space to spare, you can order them in bulk even if you live alone––you'll go through them at some point. Even if you prefer desserts that are freshly prepared over magical instant puddings like this, this is still a great thing to have in the cupboard for when you are called upon to produce a dessert unexpectedly. It does require milk, although it works just fine with reconstituted powdered milk in case you really want to prepare for the apocalypse.

One of the few inoffensive flavors of low calorie pudding. A salvation for people on restricted calorie intake, who also have a sweet tooth. (I have a mouthful of them.) And the price is so much better than at your local grocery store, too.
