Nice Shades
A quality custom product. As long as you can measure, you can have these made. Only took a couple weeks to get and they installed easily per the instructions. They function well and lower the temperature in our bathroom considerably in the summertime when the sun beams in thru our skylight all day long. I would say ZSTARR is a quality product and well priced for a custom made unit. It also came packaged very well, with no damage.

Good Product-bad instructions and no customer service available
The blinds work well once you figure them out. The instructions are terrible. First, the measurement instructions and the customization instructions conflict and one says that I should deduct 1/8 and the other says that they will do it automatically. Well, they didn't do it and my fit was super tight. I was able to make it work because I have very good DIY skills. Nevertheless, take the 1/8 off on the length yourself and it might help. Mine came without screws for the solar panels and I used 3M double sided Marine tape and it worked fine. the solar panels are on the top of the shades anyway, so not much needed there. I also used the double sided tape on the trim piece that covered the motor and winder roller. That worked as well since the trim piece didn't come with holes drilled in it or an other way to secure the trim piece. I bought two shades for the two skylights in my kitchen. The first one took me a few hours because of the tightness of the space without the 1/8 deduction and I wanted to do it right. The second one took 20 min to install and then didnt work. I installed it exactly like the other one, but it was trying to wind the cord while trying to unwind the shades and binding up. After an hour and a half of rewinding, I figured it was the remote, but the programing and reprogramming instructions were terrible so that didnt work. Then it hit me, the shades are driven on up and down primarily by the drivers in the rails on sides and pulled by the cord on the wind up in addition to the rails. The reason it was binding was because I had the rails reversed. The rails were reversed because the numbers applied to the rails at the factory were reversed. Once I swapped the rails and reinstalled everything, it worked like magic. Unfortunately I wasted about 2 hours troubleshooting myself with ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSISTANCE before ei figured it out. The wi-FI controller was easy enough to install, but they don't tell you that if you have more than one shade they will connect to the same controller and the controller does not tell you that more than one shade is connected but it works that way. Well it works now, but all in all it was a 5 hour install because of the issues with the measurements not matching the instructions and the numbering on the panels being misapplied at the factory. While this set of blinds has the potential to be an easy install, it was not and I have well above average DIY skills. If you don't have skills you should hire someone to measure these for you and then install them.

Easy to install. Didnโt work at all.
It was easy to install, but the unit would not go down at all. What a waste. No return for special orders. Buyer Beware!

Happy now that it's installed
There are very few few options out there for motorized skylights and the only one that I'm aware that's solar-powered and that you can customize/order online. A+ for that. The install took much longer than expected (see tips below). In any case, it's working perfectly now. I have it linked to Alexa via the Smart Module and can ask Alexa to open or close the blinds. It's also linked to Home Assistant with the Tuya integration. Overall, I'm very happy, and I plan on ordering two more. Tips/pitfalls that I encountered installing: - Ensure the numbered stickers all align and are pointed up. - Check the following things on the ground where it's easy: ..... Figure out which way the motor turns when the blinds are opening and closing. ..... Verify that left and right bracket travels correctly when the motor is running. ..... Verify that the cord winds the correct direction. Mine spun the wrong way! The first time I installed everything, the blind only moved 1", the motor seized, and begun beeping. I had to modify the way the spool was mounted and winding. - Before inserting the drive shaft into the motor, use the remote to "close the blind" and put the motor at the closed blind limit. - Using hex-head screws vs. the included phillips screws makes installing much easier while you're up on a ladder. - There aren't any screws included for mounting the solar panel. Moreover, I was only able to put in one screw. Two would have interfered with the motor placement. - There aren't any screws included for mounting the final t-shaped blackout panel. - I was able to pair the blind with the TUYA smart module. The directions may be found by scanning the bottom QR code on the module. You can use the Smart Life or Tuya app - both should work. The top QR code can be used start the pairing in the app. - Setting blind % doesn't work in the Smart Life app (and consequently also via Alexa/Home Assistant). Commanding fully closed and fully open work fine. I could nitpick a few other details (the rails are also a good bit wider than my previous non-motorized blinds, which make the skylight effectively smaller, there's a small gap in the corners where the rails meet...), but as this is one of the few products on the market, I'm still happy and will be putting in the other two orders soon.

These do fulfill their purpose
A bit rickety and instructions could be more clear- would make installation easier. That being said the functionality of these blinds for skylights, quality, and interfacing with Alexa and solar feature is excellent and I am happy with the purchase. Would recommend. Had to install because Mother-in-law visiting and is concerned about peeping drones.

High quality motorized skylight shade
This is a high quality product that I ordered with motor and solar panel, and remote WiFi Hub. The solar panel mounts on the end with the motor so is not visible from inside. The directions were good for most of the mounting but was for a differnt motor setup that uses a cord instead of the more robust belt drives on each side that came with this unit. The unit shipped with the control unit already setup for the length of the blinds so I didn't need to adjust. Blackout material is 100% blocking. Blinds run smoothly and quietly at good speed (see video). Note: no instructions for setting up the remote Hub plug so requires some online searching!
