DMAE is not “one methyl group” from being meth. Meth, or meth amphetamine, has a phenyl ring which DMAE (dimethylaminoethanol) does not have. Rather, DMAE, has a hydroxy group there instead. This means it is dramatically different. Furthermore, any metabolites will be dramatically different as well.

Probably settles but mine didn't start clumping till after a while of being kept in the fridge for moisture control

Before workout works best for lifting. There is no creatine in the product so you can take upon waking up but the effects will wear off by time you hit the gym. My recommendation is 1 8oz cup of black coffee upon waking up then min 4hr before taking this product and take 15 -30 before workout.
