Excellent replacement for OEM filter
I installed this filter on a 2003 Hummer H2. Interestingly, I finally figured I needed to replace the old filter after hearing a popping sound coming from the engine compartment. The sound initially was present only on rainy days. Then after a few months, it was more frequent, sometimes even on overcast days. It took me a while to figure where the noise came from, since I originally thought it was due to engine knock. Eventually, I determined the sound was caused by the Air Filter Service Gauge (aka Filter Minder). Apparently, the old filter was clogged enough to cause the gauge to pop in-and-out, making that noise. New filter installation required a little silicone lube around the gasket edge, then it was easier to push into place. The filter has exactly the same materials and dimensions as the much more expensive OEM filters. Works great so far.
