Are the relay contacts normally open or normally closed?

Both 87 terminals are open until relay gets its trigger. Then both 87 terminals get power.

Has anyone checked the dimensions on these relays? listed as "0.56 x 0.56 x 0.87 inches" but the ones i got are 1" x 1" x 2". the p/n matches the add.
