Rejuvenate your skin
The Cosmic Element Cambrian Blue Clay Mask Powder is a versatile, natural skincare product that works well for exfoliating and detoxifying your face, hair, and body without harsh chemicals. The blue Cambrian clay sourced from Russia has a fine texture that mixes easily into a smooth paste when blended with water or your favorite liquid (like aloe juice or yogurt), and it feels gentle rather than abrasive on the skin. On the face, it does a good job of drawing out impurities and excess oil while leaving skin feeling refreshed, which makes it suitable for combination or normal skin types; it doesn’t strip or dry the skin out the way some clay masks can. You can also use it on the body in areas prone to congestion or breakouts, and some people mix a bit into hair treatments to help absorb buildup at the scalp. Because it’s a powder, you control the consistency and strength of each application, and the mineral-rich formula lends a clean, earthy feel without artificial additives or strong fragrance. If you’re new to clay masks, start with once or twice a week to gauge how your skin responds, since every skin type is different. Overall, this blue clay mask powder is a solid, multi-purpose choice if you want a natural, customizable detox and exfoliation treatment across face, hair, and body.

This clay is so pretty and I think is very effective to do detox face masks with!
The color of this clay is so beautiful, it was love at first sight with just this product's natural color! The powder is very fine, no clumps, and Kaolinite (Cambrian Blue) Clay is the ONLY ingredient so it's high quality, no junk/fillers/nasty chemicals. The clay was very easy to use as per the instructions on the back of the package. I just wish it provided a little bit more clear instructions for people like me who aren't very experienced with skin care products at all especially clay face masks! I used about a tablespoon of the clay powder maybe a tad more and gradually added the lukewarm water as stated on the package. It created a good looking paste after hitting about a 1:1 ratio. This is where more clear and detailed instructions would have been appreciated....after applying a thin later to my face, I just kept applying more and more until I was through with all the paste I created. I'm also unsure if my entire faces' mask is suppose to be dry or if it's okay to remove it while wet even after the 10-15 minutes because at 20 minutes, I still had wet layers probably because of apply so much of it....my logic was if I apply more, it's more effective. I don't know but I think it was working! I really enjoyed seeing my pores in the mirror as the the mask layers were drying. I weirdly associated that with the joy of applying elmer's glue to my hand as a kid, waiting for it to dry, then watching the glue copy all the neat details of my hand. This mask does this with your face all the pores and imperfections and all. As the mask was drying, it did feel tight everywhere, but as soon as I washed it off, it left my face very clean and soft. It did help remove all the oils off my usual oily face; I was very please with its effectiveness. I enjoyed the full experience, really and excited to keep using it more long-term. Even though the bag is a small 8oz bag, you don't need a lot and probably won't be using it daily so at $9.99 at the time this review was written, it is great value for the money and will probably last you a really long time. Definitely grab a bag to try it out! Highly recommend it!

Cambrian clay powder
This Cambrian clay powder has no strange odor and mixes smoothly with water. It rinses off cleanly without leaving any residue. I’ve used it several times on my oily skin, and it didn’t cause any irritation or clog my pores. The blue color doesn’t stain my skin, which I really appreciate. I’ve been incorporating more clays into my skincare routine, and this one stands out for its quality and effectiveness. It’s not drying, the texture is nice and smooth, and a little goes a long way. Overall, it’s a great value for the money especially for an 8 oz container.

Lovely blue color, using in soapmaking
I have made cold process soap for years but never played with colors because I like keeping it as natural as possible. When I saw the description of this Cambrian Blue Kaolin Clay suggest its use in soap, I did a bit of research. Not only does it tint the soap (though not a deep color) but it also is said to improve the texture of the soap and add just a tiny bit of exfoliation. I've used regular kaolin clay for face masks and haven't had issues, but did do a patch test with this Cambrian blue clay just as a precaution, and had no adverse reactions. With the oils I use in my standby recipe, I increased the generally suggested 1 tsp clay per 1 lb oil to 1.5 tsp softened in a bit of water. The first attempt, I added the clay to the lye solution as suggested on one soap site and the blue immediately turned a dove gray color which, although lovely, wasn't what I was expecting. I mixed an additional 1.5 tsp with water and added at trace. This left the fresh soap with a slight greenish tint rather than the cream/tan without any colorant. At this stage the soap is still wet and it will take several weeks to determine the final color and the effect on the soap, but I'm excited to experiment with this clay using different amounts of clay and different oils. The packet contains plenty to play around with, and for the price I think it's a pretty good value for my uses.

No Good.
I was excited to buy this clay thinking it would create and bring a bluish color to my soap but was very disappointed. Instead of a blue color, it morphed into a light gray. Please don't buy this. I threw away the whole bag today!

Not good for coloring soap
Used several1tbsp scoops for a small batch of soap and it turned the soap a very light grey. Not recommended for soap making. It might be very good for other things.

It's fine if clay masks are your thing
The only ingredient is kaolinite, or kaolin. This is the usual ingredient in most clay masks. It just happens to be blue and I didn't experience anything different than other clay masks -- other than knowing that I only used clay and water as a mask. It will dry out skin, so best used for oily skin, or oily parts of combination skin. Also the bag claims to be eco-friendly packaging, but I don't see how since it's paper and plastic bound together, and the inside of the bag still contains plastic. Also the inner (plastic) bag was filled tight, and it was difficult to find an area to open it. But the value for the money certainly can't be beat. I could probably make light clay masks for my T-zone areas weekly for years, with the little that's needed to make one.
