Stop the Scratch

It works well as long as you follow directions. Spraying your furniture once won't work.

Tried and sprayed about every 4 hours, did not deter my cats at all, they kept clawing at furniture. In my opinion the product is a waste of ti.e & money, it does not work. It does have a pleasant smell, but I didn't need a air freshener, I needed a deterrent to keep my cats from destroying our furniture.

Unfortunately, this was a waste of money for me. I was hoping it would keep my cat from scratching the couch, but it didn't work at all. My cat would walk right up to the couch after I sprayed it and continue scratching like nothing had changed. I wish I had saved the money and bought another scratching post instead. It may work for some cats, but it wasn't effective for mine.

I've had my first 8oz. bottle for more than a year and it's close to the end. And the liquid is clear like water. It doesn't really say this, but it's like putting a collar on your dog and expecting it to behave! This product is an adjunct to proper cat training! I have THREE young rescues and a house full of new furniture! I provide toys and use them with my cats, and I take the time to teach them the word NO. A hand clap or loud noise is a good startle, and will help stop bad behavior. I've sprayed this Stop The Scratch stuff many times... backs of the fancy upholstered bar stools, corners of the couch and pretty much any unacceptable soft surface in my home! The spray smells faintly of rosemary, but the odor dissipates quickly. And it doesn't stain! I've not had issues with the spray bottle either. Of note, I did purchase another brand of cat deterrent at the same time, and since it smelled strongly, I used only Stop The Scratch, and it works! I'm too irresponsible (busy) to spray on a regular schedule, but my Harvey will snap a claw on a barstool to remind me that it's time to respray! I like this stuff. It works, in conjunction with normal efforts, and I find that it helps prevent a habit from forming.

This stuff works for both my cats, we recently purchased a new sectional. I bought two brands of scratch repellants along with the clear vinyl peel and stick for back and arms. I have only used this spray since, it doesn’t irritate my husband’s sense of smell and cats have not scratch, they avoid areas I have sprayed and stick to throw pillows or blankets. I’m purchasing 2 more bottles. I’m taking one star off like others say spray nozzles was horrible, I transferred to a glass spray bottle which worked out better to keep in our living room.

I chose this brand because A) It has the best rating, and B) it was the most expensive. I assumed the high price was reflective of the quality. You know what they say about assumptions. Yup, they made an a** out of me. I sprayed the areas in my home that I didn't want my cat scratching. I should back up and explain my cat very rarely scratches anything that she shouldn't, but after I saw her stretching out up the front of my Polk Audio tower speakers one night, I jumped online and bought this after an hour of research. So back to spraying. I removed the fabric speaker covers from the towers and tried a test spray and let it dry. Test one passed, no staining. So I then soaked both fabric covers and let them dry, the replaced them on the towers. I also sprayed the corner of my couch where the little kitty always stretches out. So what was the result? Belly laughs from the son and wife when the cat came in the room and was instantly drawn to the new smell. She rubbed her face in it over and over and for a week now, continues to stretch out on the one speaker tower and corner of the couch. She does not scratch or claw at them, but then she never did. But now this smell seems to be permanent (I'm sure it's not) and therefore it draws her to these places far more often. She likes the smell is what I'm saying. I keep looking around for the "punked" cameras...

Pleasant smell. So far so good. You need to repeat spray so don't buy the tiny size.

After applying every other day, then daily because the cats weren't deterred from scratching my leather couches, I have gone through the whole bottle and feel like I wasted my money and also have damaged couches. Very disappointed.

Working well but not for long. Effective for day or two.

The spray neck broke down after 5 sprays, two of three holders broke, what a low quality for such a expensive spray, spend a little of that huge profit in your product.

Effectively stops cats from scratching furniture in areas where sticking the plastic sheets on is not practical. The only problem is you have to spray it multiple times during the day.

I have two kittens and was hoping to keep them away from certain areas like the curtains and power plugs. I saw the reviews and hoped that the product would work at least partially. It turned out to be an absolute waste of time and effort. The spray does absolutely nothing. I have no idea what it contains but it smells bad to humans and the kittens dont ven seem to notice it. At first I thought I was not spraying enough or doing it often enough. But the kittens sniff at at it and to make matters worse seems to be attracted to it sometimes. What exactly is this spray for ? In m y opinion it is an absolute scam designed to fool pet owners. Stay away from it and keep your hard earned money.
