Description

  • Direct Contact Heatpipes & 57 Stacks of Aluminum Fins 289138mm2 air contact surface area (>16% higher than Blizzard T4 / Hyper T4) of aluminum fins with 4 x Direct Contact heatpipes to provide excellent heat dissipation
  • "V" Shaped Array Aluminum Fins Wide "V" Shaped molding of the Aluminum Fins minimize the contact of the heatsink and the cooling fan. Which increase the airflow and keep the fan away from the hot heatsink, in order to ensure the lifespan of the cooling fan.
  • XtraFlo 120 "Fire Red" LED PWM Fan Wave Shaped and small hub dimension generate extra high airflow. With a wide range PWM fan control from 500 to 1,600 RPM to fine tune and balance fan noise and performance.
  • "Top Cover" Lock the Push & Pull AirFlow To avoid dynamic losses, the "Turbo Engine Cover" & the dual XtroFlo Fan setup provides added pressure to push hot air through the heatsink.
  • Quick-snap Fan Bracket with Anti-vibration Rubber Pads Quickly and easily install, remove, clean or replace the fan / heatsink for simple maintenance, while anti-vibration rubber pads reduce noise and resonance. Universal Mounting Versatile all-in-one mounting solution for all common Intel and AMD platforms, AM4 Supported!

I find that the fan mounting was much better, and the mounting hardware

When I bought this, there was no review on it. So being the first, here are my impressions of the cooler so far. It is a solid choice for a low profile cpu cooler. It does run about a degree or 2 hotter then the big scythe shiruken rev b. However, I find that the fan mounting was much better, and the mounting hardware, while not leagues above other coolers, wasnt to bad, making installation easy. Now I will say the fan that comes with it, isn't all that good. Its quiet, but I find it to be lacking in cooling potential. I bought this already assuming this, having had other cooler master coolers in the past. I swapped out the 120 mm fan, for a 140mm fan, with 120mm mounting holes. This literally brought temperatures down almost 10 degrees. Its a good cooler, and I enjoy the sturdiness of the fan mounting. If your like me, and hate using zip ties on your heat sink fins, and are looking for a cooler, that out of the box will do what it says, then this is the heat sink for you.

Perfect low profile cooler

I installed this in a 4U server rack. I had previously swapped motherboards and the previous cooler was too tall for the case. The install couldn't have gone smoother. As a result of already installing the motherboard, I had to disconnect the motherboard from the case to get to the backside of the mobo. Initially, I thought the cooler would not align properly, however it did once I began to screw the second screw in. Be sure to go in a diagonal pattern and don't over-tighten!The fan initially was very loud, however it was due to my motherboard settings. It was plugged into the CPU fan however my mobo wanted it running at max speed. I set it to S.M.A.R.T. settings and I could barely hear it.Very easy install and solid product.

Nice and cool so far...

4/25/2020: I just picked up an older Lenovo mini tower desktop recently and it has a good upgrade path so I bought this cooler for the new CPU. The original dual core Pentium (G2020) ran at 40-42°c when running cinebench release 20. With this cooler? It hit 40°c once, towards the end of rendering the picture, but was always in the 37-39°c range. Now, the fan connections on this Mobo are all pwm, 4 pin. The stock cooler with Mobo programming ran the fan around 2k rpm all the time anyway. I knew the 3 pin would just run at max rpm, which is just over 2,200 rpm. So there's no real difference other than 200 rpm.I ordered a quad core 3rd gen i5 (3470s), it will be here in a few days and I will update with how this cooler works with that CPU.4/27/2020: Update with stock CPU. I've run some more benchmarks and have found that the temps have risen over what the stock cooler was at. Currently hitting a high of 44°c, constantly over 40°c.I'm not sure what changed, but only the first run of cinebench ran cooler than the factory cooler. The system even has intake and exhaust fans, which it didn't have from the factory.I'm just going to use it with my new CPU and see how it works. The cooler is rated up to a 77w processor, the new cpu I just received is rated 65w. Will update after install and testing.Dropped review to 4 stars, for the moment.I would add a photo but don't have the option at the moment for some reason.Update after installing i5-3470s: The cooler keeps it fairly cool when running cinebench. It has barely broken 60°, reaching 61°c max on the hottest core, the coolest was 59°c max.Overall satisfied with this CPU cooler.5 stars.

Quiet & Otherwise Great if not Overclocking

Likes: Low profile, quiet, and no RGB!Dislikes: Very little OC potential.I went into my recent pc build with the mindset of a quiet sleeper rig without overclocking. If I had kept to that goal this heat sink would have worked great. But I got a 9600KF so naturally I OCed. This cooler just can't handle the extra power output from an OCed chip and temps become limiting. I'd only recommend for non "K" chips.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner

Nice inexpensive quiet CPU fan. Directions to install left a lot to be desired. It is supplied with a backing place that goes on the reverse side of the mobo.Double sticky tape helped, but still had to hold the backing plate on the backside of the moboto get the screws started. Don't care about the blue lighting. Do care this is a qualityfan that works very quietly and does a passable job of cooling the CPU.Highest core temp I got on my i7 4790 was 51C. I do not over clock or game.Once the pre-installed paste sets up a little more expect temps will drop slightly.See the photo of the backer being installed.

Nice, but not nice enough...

I replaced an i5 heatsink with this item. Mounted easily (1150 socket) and ran quiet and looked good. Price was fair also. Cooler Master makes good product.I was 4 to 5 degrees celcius higher with this cooler versus stock heatsink. Bit unusual, but it wasn't going to help me at all so I returned. Likely will be an improvement for some, just wasn't for me.

Replacing an Area 51 R2 Heatsink and coolant fan

As a replacement, it works very well for the most part. The actual part is hard to find and expensive. For a fraction of the price, I picked this one up. It barely fit and tends to blow into the side panel of the case. So i leave the panel off as it's an easy slide panel and pop it on when moving the PC. Super easy to install and runs cooler than than the original.

Installed Easily - Fixed Issue

Used this on a Fan Heat Sink Assembly that had broken on an Dell Alienware computer. The mounting tabs had broken on the original heat sink fan unit. This was perfect fit and installed in a few minutes. No issues. Works great. Delivered the next day. The assembly has heat sink compound already on unit. It is covered with a small plastic cover. I had already purchased some thermal compound and could have saved a couple of bucks by not buying another tube. Would recommend to others.
