This footrest is exactly as described. The two-piece design offers excellent flexibility, allowing for multiple configurations to suit different needs. Both pieces are comfortable and adjust easily as intended. I’m especially glad I chose the teardrop style—it works perfectly for my setup. I ordered this foot rest to replace a foot rest I've used at work for the past several years. This particular foot rest, by Comfilife, was highly recommended by Wirecutter, which is why I decided to get it. I've submitted a photo of my old foot rest (on the right) vs. the one from ComfiLife (on the left). You will notice that there is a substantial height difference, with Comfilife being much higher. Note that it opens, so it can be used at a lower level (but it's flat). It took a day to adjust to the new, higher rest. But I've compensated by sitting a little differently in my work chair. It is sturdiness, yet soft. The covering can be removed and washed. I love the way it feels! It's definitely an upgrade from my original one. One other comment is that I chose the teardrop shape. I'm not sure how I feel about it. If done again, I'd likely get the classic. If I was at home in a more relaxed position, I might like the teardrop. But since I'm using this at work for ergonomic reasons, I'm not sure the teardrop shape is the best one. That being said, I'm very happy with my purchase. If you have back or hip problems at work, definitely consider getting a foot rest!! Once again, Wirecutter hasn't let me down with this recommendation!
