It uses #4 Cone filters (optional mesh filter). Makes 10 cups in 10 minutes. Coffee is as good as any other drip coffee maker I've ever had. I don't know why it's suddenly so expensive, but I would pay up to $25 for this one. You open the hinged top lid and rotate the water dripper out of the way to get the basket and put in the filter and coffee. Then when you close the lid, it is cleverly designed to push the dripper back into position (2 plastic tabs on the underside of the lid accomplish this). The carafe does not drip when you pour a cup of coffee - even if you pour fast. The basket also does not drip onto to the heating surface when you pull the carafe out. Very good machine -- amazing at $15. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ All the coffeemaker you need with no superfluous features - Keep It Simple! *by R***Y on August 14, 2016* What do you really need in a coffee maker? Good coffee, of course, as well as reliability, ease of use, and easy cleaning. Few things annoy me more than those high-tech coffee makers that have whiz-bang features that are supposed to make your life better but ultimately just cause confusion and extra costs (for the coffeemaker itself, charcoal filters, built-in bean grinders, etc.). I don't even really need the timer; I just stagger into the kitchen in the morning and push the "On" button. Easy!Pause-and-pour features on coffeemakers give me a small amount of anxiety because if you don't line up your carafe perfectly you could get a huge mess of hot water and coffee grounds. This hasn't happened to me with this model after my first week of use, but if it happens later I'll add it to the review.A feature I really like about this model is that the water delivery arm swings out over the basket to simulate a manual pour-over like you might get at a good coffee shop. The result is a great cup of coffee with little effort and, of course, at a fraction of the cost of going out.Most of all, I like the simplicity of this model. Coffee stays hot for a good amount of time. Brewing cycle is pretty quick and the coffee is good. This is not a fancy machine which is just what I was looking for.
