BUY IT
As a medical student, I wasn't sure if I was struggling to get reflexes because I was bad at it or if it was my hammer. One of our lessons was taught by a neurologist with one of these hammers so I thought I would give it a try. OH MY GOODNESS - it is a lifesaver!! I am consistently able to get reflexes now and highly recommend just buying this item rather than getting the flimsy, works half-the-time hammer for half the price. It has a wonderful weight and is clearly a quality product. Great as a gift for the medical people in your life.

Love it! Looks good and helps me look good.
I was having difficulties getting appropriate reflex response with other lighter hammers. This one has a great weight, balance and feel. The first use produced much more consistent responses. The handle is hollow stainless steel with the head being nearly solid. According to the manufacture's website, this hammer has a lifetime warranty and is latex free. The tips unscrew to allow replacement of the tips. Another review stated the tip wasn't sharp enough for Babinski's reflex, but I have used it on a new born and on other infants with perfect success. Overall, this is a quality professional instrument that I really enjoy using. I am more consistent and results are achieved rapidly and easily. Highly recommended.

so I went ahead and spent the extra money to buy a well crafted hammer and I am happy I did
Its a hammer and does its job well, I researched these for quite some time to find the one I wanted. Normally I use the longer version which allows you to get some velocity behind it but I got sick of tearing button holes when it gets caught on the door. I absolutely despise the garden variety hammers, they do there job but they feel cheap, so I went ahead and spent the extra money to buy a well crafted hammer and I am happy I did. The head of the hammer is well weighted and has enough mass to generate a good amount of force with little effort. All in all the hammer works perfectly with the added bonus that the cost forces me to hunt it down if it goes missing, My only complaint is with the built-in brush, either I haven't found it's secret location or the brush is actually white lithium grease and I havent developed the art that is cutaneous response. Since I didnt buy it for the brush I am not going to let it affect my review. Overall I love it and would buy it again

Ideal reflex hammer
Tromner is my preferred reflex hammer. Good weight making it easy to illicit reflexes in nearly all patients even pediatrics. Sturdy. Going on 6 years with the same hammer. The slightly pointed end of the hammer also makes plantar reflexes easy.

I highly recommend it
I love it! It’s heavier than I expected, but it looks and feels well made that it would last a long time. Also works better than the tomahawk style reflex hammer, easier to elicit a response even with kids. This is the first time I’ve owned a tromner so I can’t compare it with other tromner hammers. As for the packaging, it came with a white box sealed with a clear sticker on the side, box was deformed on one side, and slightly torn at the top. Hammer is intact and in great condition, so I’m gonna let it slide.

Best reflex hammer out there
This reflex hammer is as good as it gets! The weight distribution is perfect, allowing for easy reflexes every time. If you’re coming from a dinky triangle, you will be amazed just how much better this tool performs. Sure it’s a bit pricier than the cheap triangles out there, but those wear out quickly and don’t even perform well enough for their cheap price. This hammer fits easily anywhere you were keeping your other tools, but outshines them by miles. Update: This is the second hammer I have bought from this listing. The first was in 2019, and the most recent 2024. The one from 2019 was made in the USA and was a solid piece of metal with screw-on rubber attachment. This new hammer is made in China and is two pieces attached together. The threads on the screw-on attachments are much looser than the old hammer, and they don’t fit as snuggly. The construction is obviously cheaper, though it does function just as well as my old one. I wish I didn’t lose the old one, but I’m still hopeful this one will be just as durable.

Fantastic hammer. Take that queen's square!
I absolutely love this hammer. The weight, balance, and quality of the workmanship are all exactly what you would want in a Tromner hammer. Note: This would also make a great gift for a current or aspiring medical student!

As a GP trainee my Clinical supervisor felt this was a bit over kill but it is nice to not have to run around the wards for one (and not find it) and also great not to use my stethoscope. The actual hammer it self feels of a very high quality. One would think you couldn't get excited by a tendon hammer .. but you can... Reflex's have never been so much fun! It consistently provides all the reflexes and has a not too sharp plantar reflex tip as well as a pead sized rubber tip too. Been waiting for this all my (medical) life.

Grund ????

I'm a medical student and needed a reflex hammer for my neurology elective. I bought one in the past which was around 20 dollars and it felt very flimsy and cheap, and it fell apart after a few months of being in my bag. I decided to purchase this one in silver. It feels like it is all metal and is very sturdy, not cheap whatsoever and I am able to elicit reflexes with it. I noticed most residents in neurology have the tromner style hammer and it looks similar to this one! (not sure what company theirs are from) Very happy with my purchase!

I lost my MDF reflex hammer recently, and I chose to buy the same one again despite many less expensive alternatives. I like the solid build and heavier weight of this because I find it more reliable for eliciting reflexes compared with the lighter hammers. Worth the extra money in my opinion. My old one had four years of light use with no issues. Hoping this one will last me for the better part of my career.
