Learn Italian with OUINO: New Improved Edition v4 | Lifetime Access (for PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Chromebook)

I own most of the Italian programs and would rank Ouino among the best and one of My 3 favorites for use on a computer. The other 2 are: Fluenz Italian (I own the entire series of 5) and Rocket Italian ( I own the Rocket Premium, Plus and Platinum editions) . One step down but still good programs are: Tell Me More Italian (I own all 10 levels of version 9), and Rosetta Stone (I own levels 1 and 2). Fluenz is the most complete and probably the best for the computer. Ouino follows close behind.For my daily jogs I listen to Pimsler Italian (I have 3 levels), the audio part of Rocket Italian, and Italian On the Go. All are excellent but Pimsler is the most complete. I like the interaction of the instructors in Rocket Italian audio. They make learning fun and easy.Additional comments: Ouino is by far the least expensive of the Italian programs I've used, and a great bargain at the price. Rosetta stone is very expensive and does the most advertising. They say its effectiveness is that it teaches you to learn a language the way a child does, however adults have lost the ability to learn a language the way a child does. Tell Me More has different methods of learning, many of which I don't like very much.To summarize: If you can afford it, buy Ouino, Fluenz and Rocket Italian for the computer and Pimsler, Rocket Italian, and Italian on the Go for your exercise runs and walks. If you are on a limited budget, as most of us are, buy Ouino, You can't go wrong.

This program really needs to be used with another program that provides more structure and user support. I use it with Fluenz which doesn't include as much useful everyday situation vocabulary as does Ouino. I would not recommend this product to someone who has never studied Italian.

This course covers all of the basics to allow the student to get a basic comprehensive grasp, like no other language program I have ever used. The program is well structured, performs flawlessly, and allows seamless jumping around to different segments as you may want to review something from other lessons as you go. I am totally impressed. I am 72 years old and like to learn basic language skills before I travel--this course allows me to at least grasp the structure and accents rather than just, as it always used to turn out, wrote memory of key phrases. Money well spent. I am a degreed Spanish student and life-long student of Spanish, and now Italian. Love this course.

I love the flexibility this program allows: I can study what I want, when I want. My favorite feature is that you hear every bit of spoken Italian first at normal speed, then slowly enough to really understand the pronunciation. Although I didn't expect to care much about the exercises included with the lessons, I was pleasantly surprised. Most reward you for reacting as quickly as possible to an Italian sentence or question you hear; this forces you to listen very closely to the words spoken. As a result, my comprehension of the Italian speech I hear has increased dramatically over a short period of time. I have yet to try the voice recognition aspect of the program.

To early to say. Just getting into it.

I've tried about 4 different Italian language courses and Ouino is definitely the best. The dialogues and accents seem very realistic. The user can configure important features such as turning subtitles on and off. (Which is a big help.) The graphics are excellent. The functionality is excellent. The quizes are almost fun.I'd say the only reason that I didn't rate it 5 stars is that learning a language is still work. You have to put yourself into it. I suppose that a 5 star experience would be living in Rome.

Purchased this before a trip to Italy and found it really helped me get a foundation in the language. Now that I have returned I am using the program again because there is so much to learn. The voices are not robotic and the program allows you to speed up or slow down the pronunciation. The images that accompany words and phrases are relevant and colorful. The program has many other features that I found helpful and the price is super reasonable including that you can use the program on 2 devices. I loaded one on my PC and the other on my son's PC so it was like getting 2 sets for the price of 1.

Really glad I made tjis purchase. Great price for the quality of this product. Extremely interactive program. Fairly easy to navigate through and as a beginner, provides a thorough basic program and allows me to learn at my pace before advancing.
