Review: A book for those who want to move beyond the basics of tapestry weaving - I have several books on tapestry weaving. Some are for the very beginner. This one is not; it moves into more advanced territory, which is what I wanted. It includes chapters on "Getting Started", "Equipment and Materials", then moves into more advanced techniques and how to create your own designs for tapestry, as well as caring for tapestries. She provides a history of tapestry weaving, which I enjoyed reading. The book ends with a chapter, "Inspirational Work from Contemporary Tapestry Weavers", which I also very much enjoyed, as it shows many possibilities of creating through tapestry weaving. It has good color plates throughout, a glossary, and index. If you want a simple "How to" book, look elsewhere. If you want a book that gives you possibilities and inspiration for tapestry weaving, then this is the book for you.

I have several books on tapestry weaving. Some are for the very beginner. This one is not; it moves into more advanced territory, which is what I wanted. She provides a history of tapestry weaving, which I enjoyed reading.
