The HTA5200 is rated at 210 watts per channel and drives all channels (not just one channel as most competitors say it). When used with ordinary speakers, 112-115dB sound pressure level, 7-10dB higher than necessary. Additional dB means the amplifier is working properly within normal range, keeping distortion low. (The good example is that the TV is too high - it doesn't hear. This is because the more you get full power, the greater the distortion. The distortion will be less than 0.01% when this amplifier is 105dB. By selecting the best components you can achieve 110dB SNR at full power. Was ready to send back, but decided to try xlr cables which arrived the next day (Mogami/Neutric). First, covered the rca’s with Cardas rfi caps to block the hum. Music now comes from all 5 channels, no hum, and integrates well with my Vincent SA-500 integrated powering my front Klipsch Heresy main speakers and RSL-12 sub (7.1 system). It seems OSD has perfected the class H amp for home theater use when utilizing xlr hook-up only. The rca hookups are as useless as tits on a boar hog.
