Works to extend ports for more devices.
Ok so it works well. Pros, it does allow you to hook up more devices. Does display 4K 60hz. Has a remote. Is small enough to hide well but has to be able to be read by the remote to change the inputs. Now to the cons. It does like I said have to be in clear sight for the remote to work. The remote is small and can easily be lost. The included power cord is to short and I had to buy a longer one to reach the ac adapter and the wall. If using this with a tv that has a universal remote and you hook up more than one device to the inputs it only reads the remote for the first device. In my case it allowed me to control my Xbox one x through the hdmi in my tv but when I hooked up the ps4 to the input of the device and switched over to that input the remote didnโt switch over with it so it still only controlled the Xbox. Same thing happened when I reversed the inputs. Tv picked up the ps4 but not the Xbox as the connected device and only allowed my media remote to work on the PlayStation. I also had an issue with my Bose Soundbar and itโs remote. Turns out this device and the included remote for my sound bar use the same frequency. When I press the volume up on my Bose remote the input on the device changes. Really annoying. I have 3 hdmi ports on my Samsung tv. One for the hdmi arc for my soundbar, one for my Series x which has to be used with the hdmi 2.1 connection to get 120hz and the last one for this device hub so I can use my Xbox one x,my laptop my ps4 pro and my gaming pc. If you are going to use with a universal tv remote that controls multiple devices I would recommend searching for an alternative. It does itโs job though and once set up switches over well with no loss to sound or picture between devices. Overall a good product despite the remote incompatibility issues I experienced.

Exactly the switcher I was looking for!
Iโve been using this switcher for just a bit now and love it! Iโll update this review if anything changes (or if I see any of the screen โblankingโ like others have mentioned) but as of now it works great! I needed an HDMI switch to hook up multiple sources to my mClassic upscaler. I had a few requirements for an HDMI switch that this one met completely: - 4K compatibility (to help future-proof) - Automatically turns on when powered - 5 Inputs - Auto-Switching - Remote control for IR compatibility - USB powered I have a system that automatically switches a bank of USB powered devices on whenever I turn on my TV. This powers things like my mClassic, Retrotink 5x, and now this switch. The last switch I ordered required me to press a physical power switch every time it was powered, which was a deal breaker for me. This one boots right up to the first active source once it gets juice over USB! Better yet if you have two active sources and power one off, itโll automatically switch to the next active source. Works exactly as I was hoping! I havenโt used the remote and honestly wonโt use it very much, but I wanted it as an option in case I use it in a home theatre setup with a universal remote IR blaster in a cabinet somewhere. Many people report โscreen blankingโ, which has not been a problem for me. This may be because I have all sources going into the mClassic before reaching my TV, but my theory is that it has to do with resolution. Many times high bandwidth 4K signals are harder to have sent clearly over distance, so Iโm assuming adding other devices in between can cause some issues as well. Iโm not currently using this device with any 4K sources, as of now itโs been handling 1080p signals with no issues. Would definitely recommend this guy if your use-case is the same as mine! Itโs a great device with simple features, I know itโll be an important part of my gaming setup for years to come!

Saturday Movie Night is Once Again a Pleasure
Our old audio extractor started giving up the ghost intermittently, but we weren't all too happy with it anyway, so... blessing? The old extractor refused to pass though or process AAC audio stream correctly. This one has no trouble with AAC, AC3 or 6.1 Dolby. Everything is processed perfectly and Saturday Movie Night is once again a pleasure! I wish it had a dedicated power supply instead of a USB power input, but... what are you gonna do? Everything to day is USB powered.

OVERHEATS and HDMI input ports stop working
1st: good customer service from Amazon and 5 stars to the supplier too. But this item just isn't good. Two different units I tried had signal dropping and overheating issues. I wanted to like this item. It worked well for one month exactly and literally the signal to the tv kept dropping. Troubleshooting on my own showed it wasn't the HDMI cords nor connections directly to the devices attached to the switch, nor the HDMI output port on the switch itself. Turned out that first HDMI input port of the switch went bad. Okay, so I used the last free input port on the switch and it worked again. I contacted Amazon about the faulty port/broken item and they said the return window had just closed, but they'd allow a special one time courtesy return. Truth be told, I didn't have the original box anymore, so I contacted the supplier. 5 stars to their service as they sent me a replacement right away. However, that unit almost immediately had the same issue because it'd quickly overheat (like, HOT hot) which would then also lead to the signal to the tv dropping. The switch was not constantly plugged in (power strip is off when tv isn't in use) and I was using the suggested cables and everything was set up properly. I just cannot recommend purchasing/using this item. I'll make due without a switch at this point as the extent of the overheating was worrisome. At the $30-40 price point, I wasn't expecting a spectacular viewing experience (although video and audio quality were great when it was temporarily working), but lasting, proper functioning would have been acceptable. I just wanted a switch with multiple inputs for a DVD player, streamer box, Blu-ray, and an HDMI video and optical audio output. Better yet would be to include Bluetooth function for the audio output. But, this simple setup wouldn't be worth $2-3 hundred for a better switch. I liked the idea of the tower version with Bluetooth from a different manufacturer, but it only had one HDMI input and the Bluetooth signal kept dropping. I'm open to suggestions?

4K*2K HDMI Switch
I cannot afford a new tv, so after some research, this component came to my attention. My 50" tv is 2011 year HD 1080p. My tv has an antenna for reception with 4K and 400 mile range. On the 4K switch there are four HDMI Ports that can be connected to audio and video components. There is one HDMI cable port tv connection out and one audio connection (Optical cable I Provided not included) to the tv. I hooked up a Roku, Bluray player & VHS using Highspeed HD cables. The audio hooked straight into the tv. Those with soundbars can hook up to them instead. I do not play video games, but that can be hooked up too. With the exception of VHS, the tv picture is sharper and colors are more vivid. To my estimation, this unit has met my expectations. I spent less than $70 for a combination on all hookup cables and the HDMI switch (obviously less than cost of 4K tv replacement). A booklet was included with pictures and everything was connected, plugged in and powered up under 30 minutes. A remote is included but I just use my TV remote and that works the same way. The unit itself is so small it fits neatly tucked away on the tv stand. Easy to use, great alternative for those on a budget, and satisfying my goal of much better tv picture. Thanks y'all.

Worked as advertised for 17 months - played well with Fire TV, Roku, PC, Blu-Ray
This unit worked as advertised for 17 months before it ceased to operate. Reasonable lifetime given the purchase price. Product support is for 6 months. I used it as a switch for 4 HDMI inputs (Fire TV, Roku, PC, Blu-Ray) with single output to an Optoma projector. I used the TOSLINK output to send audio to a Samsung 4.1 sound bar. All worked fine with this HDMI switch. Switching between 2.0 and 5.1 inputs all worked fine. UPDATE: Purchased new unit in April 2022. Lasted 1 week before it failed with no HDMI output.

No CEC and a bit flaky
Switch sorta works but lacking in features. Using this for audio extraction ARC to optical, that part works OK. Though this does not support CEC so auto power On/Off and remote signals don't always pass through. Occasionally get a hiccup where TV will keep cycling back and forth on the inputs. Only correctable with power cycling the TV. Got another brand switch instead.

Good product but not durable
Only used for 2 months but does not seem to work all of a sudden. Unable to change anything and not responsive
