Good quality item
I've fitted lots of sash locks over the years, these are good quality sash locks with a high quality key, fit the inserts with a 9mm wood bit and they'll screw in tight.

Installing in to previous PVC windows
I had previously removed the locks in my window during the hot weather and misplaced them before putting back in. I just needed to find installed in to the existing holes of my PVC window. These worked perfectly!! I saw lots of other reviews about drilling holes for new installation. But if you are trying to install in to existing screw holes- it’s super easy. Done in minutes!

Impressive security stops
I've installed a variety of security catches and stops on sliding sashes over the years and have to say that these are the easiest and most flexible I've seen. You need a 10mm drill bit (one reviewer said he needed 11mm and this might make screwing in the insert easier, but many drill sets stop at 10mm, and I found 10mm ok), and a 6mm hex (Allen) key - someone recommended the Draper 33991 with a T-handle, and this worked well. The big plus is that each stop is supplied with two inserts, so you can use the stop both to prevent the sash being opened at all, as well as putting it say 150mm up the side rail so the window can be opened enough for fresh air but no further. I fitted chrome stops, which match other fittings and look fine.

Easy to fit and look good
I bought a pile of these for all my windows to give me piece of mind when leaving windows open in my ground floor flat. They’re easy to fit and have lasted well so far.

No instructions
I'm working out how to fit these based on other reviews. It's ridiculous that they don't come with instructions. Drill a 10-11mm hole being v careful not to go deeper than the length of the screw thread. It's quite hard to get the screw in, use an alan key type bit in the drill.

Great for sash windows
Used this to secure sash windows on the first and second floors and to reduce the opening so that children could not fall out. Worked perfectly. Delivered ahead of promise. Excellent. Five stars
