Product Description Review: Fantastic Looking and functioning Dive Watch - For background this is my 3rd citizen watch, and my first diver from them. I'm a fairly serious hobbiest watch collector and own lots of watches from different brands of different styles. I picked this up on the desertcart prime day sale for $200, which for a watch like this is an absolute steal. The case: There's nothing really to write home about here. The case has a lower profile than I would have expected and it doesn't feel as heavy as I would have thought. I also own a citizen titanium sportswatch and the whole bit doesn't feel as heavy as this one, but it's not drastically different. It would be nice if the caseback was more interesting or see-through but that's not a deal breaker. It's a nice size and looks good on my 7.5in wrist. If you have a smaller wrist it may feel a bit too big, and an Orient mako may be a better option for you. The band: The band has a expander that makes it easy to perform microadjustments without having to take pins out. This is a great feature for being able to adjust to hot and cold weather (or in and out of water) quickly and easily for comfort. I took two links out and adjust this as I need to. It's comfy and easy to use. Great work here. The dial: The dial is the best part of the watch. It's both appropriate as a dive watch and classy enough that it has some pizaaz and sparkle to what feels like a voyage into the sea. The fade to light blue looks like it would mirror coming up out of the water. The time indicies are all rectangles except for the 12 o'clock triangle. And they look great in that faint green color. The hands: The mercedes / peace sign hand for the hour is a really nice touch. When It's partially skeletoned so when you see it in full lume in the dark (assuming while diving) there's a big difference between the hour and minute hand. This little trick makes it much easier to read while scuba diving. The Lume: The lume is great. Blue, bright, and just fantastic. The hands, indicators, and 12 o'clock on the bezel insert are lumed. The bezel and insert: The bezel is great. The clicks have a fluid feel to them. The insert not so much. It's aluminum and looks / feels cheap. I like that the bezel sits the insert above the crystal, so even though it's mineral I'm not worried about it getting scratched. I do worry that the insert will scratch easily and at the full price point I would have hoped there would be a ceramic bezel with more lume. This is something you can get with a $120 addiesdive ordered direct from China, and citizen should have done more here. These are supposed to be seiko SKX bezel compatible so I may upgrade it with something from LCBI. Crown: The crown is nothing special other than it has an engraving on the end. A lot of people like this, but nobody ever really sees it and I don't think it's that interesting of a feature. I wish instead of an engraving they would have installed crown protectors in the case. It both makes the watch sturdier and looks better than a little knob sticking out for the crown. Movement, instructions, and setting the time: The movement is an in-house automatic, either a Miyota 8204. It seems to be keeping good time, but I don't really regulate to the point where I care about losing a few seconds per day. It's running great and running regularly. The watch doesn't come with instructions, however if you've ever used a dive watch before (that isn't a vokstok) this one functions pretty much the same way as any of them. Plus once you register with the app it gives you the option to download instructions. Like just about all other watches certified at 200m or more, the crown screws down. So you'll need to unscrew it. Position 1 sets the day and date, position 2 sets the hours and minutes. The movement is "hacking" so the seconds hand will stop when you pull the crown into position. I don't care about hacking for accuracy down to the second (if I wanted that I'd use a radio controlled watch, not an automatic), but this makes the watches much easier to work on if one day I want to replace the hands or do any work on it. All in all it's a fantastic watch, a japanese diver offered at not much more than chinese bargain brand prices. At under $300, it's an absolte steal. Black dial with bracelet is awesome!
I wanted a tool watch with day and date that was rated for 100+M water resistance. I got this on sale under 240. In hand it looked nicer than what I envisioned. I was planning on just wearing this with jeans but it's nice enough for business casual. The only downside is that it is mineral glass, but I didn't mind. It has a screw down crown, the lume works well, and it fits on my 6.5" wrist like a smaller watch. Be aware, this uses the pin and collar system for adjusting links. This also hacks and hand winds. The bracelet feels sturdier than my Seiko 5's, although I don't have the divers. The texture on the dial is more subtle in real life than in many reviews photos, as many of the photos use direct light to accentuate the texture. I prefer this more subtle look, but if you are expecting the texture to look as prevalent as in other photos, you might be disappointed. All in all, it was more than I expected for under 240.

Great Everyday Diver, But With Some Drawbacks
This is a solid dive watch overall, but there are a few details worth knowing before buying. What I Like Design & comfort: The blue dial looks great, and the micro-adjustable band is a big win — it makes the watch feel fantastic on the wrist. Build quality: The case feels sturdy, and it carries that classic Promaster dive watch look. Everyday usability: Easy to wear daily and has the water resistance to back up the dive style. What Could Be Better Lume: It works, but it’s weaker than I expected. The lume dot at the top looks a little cheap compared to the rest of the watch. Band pins & sleeves: Removing links is frustrating — you have to be very careful with the pin/sleeve system, which makes resizing harder than it should be. Price: After buying, I found it cheaper from other sellers, which stings a bit. Overall I really like this watch and plan to keep it — the comfort and look make it a great daily wear piece. But for the price, I wish the lume was stronger and the bracelet design (pins/sleeves) was more user-friendly. Still, if you want a dependable, stylish diver, it’s a strong option.

Best diver ever
I purchased the version with the blue bezel and steel bracelet. I wanted to get a Fugu and watched various reviews but the Fugu is too big and the reviewers online were saying it wears small but to be on the safe side I picked this promaster for its safer case dimensions. The packaging was awesome, arriving in a little scuba tank! You know the presentation is great when you want to leave it in the box! Beautiful watch, amazing dial that really comes to life in the sun, hand-winding, screw down crown, a real-deal diver which doesn't tower off the wrist. But the cool part is the amazing lume. This has the best lume of all my watches, really coming to life at night (usually I have to hit my lume with a flashlight to set it off whereas this lume just lumes). Timekeeping is more accurate than my 4r36, not having had to adjust the time once and I've been wearing it four days. Only tip to buyer is pay attention to sizing arrows on back of bracelet, I only realized they were there after struggling on sizing for a while and even bending a pin and scratching a link. Yes, there's arrows to avoid this.

Great mechanical watch!
Happy new watch owner here. I lost my year long NY004 diver in the waves of the ocean, so I looked to find replacement. After some searching and realizing, that getting a new NY004 is not that easy, I went for the NY0129, also blue dial and metal bracelet. It runs more accurate than my previous watch (I know, this is chance), but less than 10 seconds every 24 hours fast is very OK. It feels higher, but I like that, the mm less in diameter in comparison to my previous watch does not fall into weight here. While searching, the price dropped, which was the final push I needed, excellent price for this watch. I currently wear it with a canvas strap, I prefer the looks, but will always change back and forth between this one and the more elegant bracelet. It is comfortable to wear, not heavy, but still feels very solid. Great contrast dial and good lume, although I think it doesn't hold the luminosity as long as my NY004 did. All in all, very satisfied!

Looks good, but doesn't run good
Its a beautiful watch, beautiful dial, but sometimes when I wear it at work, it stops ticking!! I sent it back to the proper facility, they explained it needs constant wear to stabilize any issues. Somedays it runs well, other days it will just stop! I followed the advice given, but I cant wear this watch with complete confidence?? Its the only citizen watch I own that runs 'part time' after I set the time before wearing it .

Solid automatic diver, excellent lum, thin bezel, super functional, not luxurious
This is an automatic citizen very affordable and my fourth one. Delivered in a good looking box, the Promaster package. The watch is solid, looks good, but not fantastic. Could be too small based on different preferences and for a diver watch. The bezel maybe is too thin and I would change it if posibile. good bracelet, adjustable and comfortable. Very good lum, as always from citizen. not a transparent back lid to see the mechanism, but fine to me.

A must have dive watch!
What are you getting for your money with this watch? A LOT! Specifically, you are getting an ISO certified dive watch rated to 200m. Not just a manufacturer claimed rating. Accurate, hacking/stop seconds hand, and hand-winding automatic movement. 60 click unidirectional bezel that has zero backplay and lines up as does everything else. Great 'textured' & gradient dial that is both easy to read and has nicely framed indices, nice day/date window and great lume. The bracelet has solid end links, removable full and half links, a great milled clasp that also has a sliding/ratcheting diver extension. In my photos you can see the blue dial looks great on the OEM bracelet or an aftermarket blue rubber dive strap. The case finishing is all brushed except for the bezel and signed Promaster logo on the crown. It's a big watch to be sure, but most tool diver watches are in the 40-44mm Dia size...this watch has an approximately 50mm wingspan lug to lug, so if your wrist size is less than 6.5" you may want to find something that wears a bit smaller. My overall take on this watch is 5-stars only because that's the max number available. Why you would spend thousands on something else that's no more capable as a tool watch when this watch has the Citizen pedigree that includes an in-house Miyota mov't (it's crude but accurate and has a great reputation)...Not only would I say it's the best sub $500 automatic diver, it's probably the best value 200m ISO diver at any price. Don't but a Chinese copy/hommage/micro brand watch with a Seiko/Miyota movement because the Seiko SKX is no longer available, don't buy a Seiko 5 dive-style, this Promaster Diver's 200m watch is professional grade and budget friendly. Update: liked it so much - I purchased the yellow one as well and put it on a black rubber diver's strap for everyday wear!

El empaque me sorprendió.
Muy buen reloj, ya lo esperaba pues vi muchas reseñas en YouTube, lo que me sorprendió fue el empaque, me gustó mucho que viniera en el tanquesito de oxígeno.

Citizen make great watches. No disappointments with this Promaster.
Another solid timepiece from Citizen to add to my ever expanding watch collection. You can tell the quality is there and I believe Citizen Promasters best Seiko dive watches in the same price range. This is a proper, ISO certified diver's watch so it is a quite thick and is no lightweight. This said, it is a comfortable watch to wear. The case is well machined and is free of any sharp edges and the solid-link bracelet can be sized to pretty much any wrist, thanks to the micro-adjuster/diver extension in the clasp. The bezel adjusts well and does not have any wobble to it. Alignment with the dial and indices pretty much spot-on. The dial is a little darker in the flesh, compared with the pictures but does shine well in sunlight. The luminescence is also very good. The tried-and-true Miyota 8200-series movement is within 10 seconds a day - not too bad for an automatic watch in this price range. Just two items of note. First: My watch arrived in a generic Citizen watch box, not in the plastic 'air tank' that is shown on the page. I actually prefer the box to the 'air tank' as it's easier to store compared with the gimmicky plastic tank. Second and most important: The bracelet links uses a 'pin and collar' system, so sizing it to fit your wrist can be tricky if you don't know what you are doing and do not have the proper watch-specific tools. The pin is secured into the link with a tiny (and I mean tiny) hollow collar. These collars can easily become lost if you are not paying attention when removing the pins and the bracelet cannot be properly secured into place without them. Watch some YouTube videos first if you've never worked on a 'pin and collar' bracelet or take it to a watch store or jewellers for correct sizing if you do not have the proper tools or are not comfortable sizing watch bracelets.
