We did go to the local hardware store and bought 2 pieces of 12 ft by 12 ft indoor outdoor carpet to put under the pool for insulation and general cushioning. It works really well so far! We spent about $60 for the carpet, but we felt it was worth it. **Q: Will grass grow through it?** A: It may ruin your grass but it will definitely not grow through it. :) **Q: Is this easy to cut to use for 12 foot? My yard is too small or we would have purchased 15 foot pool.** A: It is very thin and I don't feel that it adds any protection to the bottom of the pool. It would be easy to cut because it is very thin and it would probably fray.
