It keeps the drinks cool, which was why we got it in the first place. But it may not be a perfect fit for someone who needs food to stay cold. There's a lot of condensation. My partner dumps it out a couple times a week because the water pools in it whenever it is on. I took the cover off inside and removed the fan.
