Fun for the kids but a bit of a hassle
So let me start off by saying this thing is huge. I can put it out by myself but one little gust of wind and it gets all crazy. I tried to follow the directions which are very time consuming. You're supposed to use waterproof tape to tape these little tabs to the slide and use stakes to hold it down without ripping the tarp but that didnt work for long. Could be because I babysit a butt load of small kids so I have 5 to 6 kids on it at a time but I mean it was bought for kids and any parent shouldn't expect anything to last with a bunch of kids throwing themselves and each other down a big tarp haha I ended up just making holes in the slide with the stakes alone. It does rip some on the corners but its hig enough it's not a big deal and the rips arent huge. I bought 2 of these, my front yard is basically a big hill so its perfect. I do suggest using dish soap or baby soap other wise the kids get almost like a rug burn because the tarp gets HOT quickly. You have to keep water and some kind of soap or baby oil on it to save their skin. But its definitely worth the buy. They've had alot of fun and the adults have too!

Great toy! Friends and family loved it!
Such a fun toy! I attached some pre-party photos on account we didn't take any during because of all the fun we were having! Giant piece of plastic/tarp- Now I read some of the reviews and people say this is a huge piece of plastic or a giant tarp. That's not the case. I understand what it looks like but the material it's made out of is almost the same of a floatie or interior lining of a pool. If it were a tarp -it would be rough to the skin and not so slippery. It's very slippery when wet but add some tear-free baby shampoo and things get a little more interesting! When to use- I purchased this 50 foot slide for an adult "slip and flip" relay party we had last year. A combination of slip and slide followed by a small game of flip cup in order for your team mate to go next. We threw this party last year and our friends begged us to throw another one; so one year and a month later here we are about to have one this Saturday! Set up- My boyfriend and I opened the slide up and placed it to our liking. Once we had it laid out we use the anchors and tabs that came with the slide. I used Yellow duct tape to attach the tabs to the slide. Once we did that we then anchored into to the designated holes. (Don't pull the slide too tight while anchoring. Leave a little room for leeway.) It takes some patience to get it right. We didn't have an issue at all once it was completely anchored. How to use- Now my yard is flat so with this relay we all had to do a head start run before sliding. That's not Wahii Waterslide's fault that I was cursed with a flat yard but a hill would make things more fun for sure! We put a sprinkler in the middle of the slide for about 10 minutes to get it wet. We added baby shampoo before every relay. We placed the sprinkler at the beginning of the slide in the middle to separate the teams. Ruin the yard- We used our slide for about 5-6 hours on a scorching hot day and picked the slide up the very next morning instead of leaving it there. The grass was not ruined at all and we had some pretty heavy guests sliding across our lawn. I highly recommend this slide!

I made it work on flat backyard with no grass and bunch of rock. You probably can make it work.
I purchased this for my son's 7th birthday party. The material can stand to be bit thicker, although that would make it heavier. I made it work on my pretty flat dirt backyard. Here's what I did to make it work and hope this'll help some future buyer. To start off, before the purchase, I used wooden stakes and left over 2x6's to create about 3-4 feet high dirt mound and steps. It took me couple days worth of work to pile up the dirt, water it and step on/pound dirt. I used 2 wooden stakes and a 2x6 for each step after pounding the dirt. I made 5 steps and with very slight slope on my backyard, kids were able to go all the way to the end of 50' side with help of baby shampoo. If your yard is completely flat, I would recommend maybe 6 steps or 7 if you have 75' one. My slope ended up about 4' wide on the top, due to availability of dirt and I didn't want to do any more work than needed. 2 kids were able to slide side by side. I tried the slide directly on my dirt/rock yard but due to the material being so thin, I felt all the rocks. I was planning to purchase some wooden boards from local hardware but I lucked out when my office was throwing bunch of old plastic chair mats away. I used plastic mats taped together with gorilla tape. Once I ran out of plastic mats, I used boxes taped to the end of the slide. Then I placed slide on top. Since kids were going to side in the middle, I only placed mats and boxed in that part. As for additional tabs I used another reviewer's idea of using plastic gift cards/credit cards, overlapped wahii's tabs and drilled hole in same place. I used 6 tabs on top of the slide, 5 on the bottom and 6 on each side and used one metal tent stakes per tab instead of ordering wahii's takes. As I tested out, I noticed that water was running to one side of slide, so I shoveled more dirt under the slide to create a trench to keep the water in the slide. I used a broken oscillating sprinkler (which did not oscillate) about 1/3 way down the slide. On top of the slide, I used a fan hose spray nozzle held in place with couple wooden stakes which concentrated the stream. Just with water, kids were able to go down about 1/2 way. With bunch of baby shampoo from dollar tree, they went all the way down to the end. Inflatable body board with handle that I also purchased from dollar tree worked really well. So did a huge tube. Since my yard was all dirt, I used old carpet pieces for kids to walk. Hope this helped you decide whether this will work or not for your yard. You can make it work. Kids had blast, including a 2 year old. It was a big hit for my son's birthday party. Since my yard is dirt with no grass to kill, I won't be removing it until end of summer.

Strong and sturdy.
From reading reviews the only thing I saw that was time consuming was set up. I watched a you tube video about using thin rope, using a large bolt to weight the rope down through the middle of the noodles, to string together $1 store noodles (I used about #20) and place those down both sides and at the end. I wrapped the sides of the tarp over and then under the noodles and it worked great! Adults used it too and the noodles made a nice side to keep the kids in and the end made a nice pool of water to slide in to. I used weighted 5 gallon buckets at the top corners and a long exercise mat between (1/2 on grass and 1/2 on the top end of the taro) so the kids wouldnโt accidentally get hung up on the edge of the tarp when they were running and that worked great too! The tarp does not need soap and is slippery enough. It was really fun!

Make sure you understand the setup required
Good but not great for what you pay. The good part is that it is high quality plastic sheeting, probably more than 6 mil, but they don't tell you what it is. The kids at our party had a blast, and the sheet held up well, even though we're on level ground. Wish I'd seen the other comments about using baby shampoo for extra slip. The bad part has to do with the first time setup as described in the instructions inside the box. First time setup will take you much longer than 15 min., and nothing on the outside of the box tells you about the extra tape you will need. This was my experience: 1. The slide is NOT ready to use out of the box. YOU have to attach the thick plastic tabs, which hold the metal stakes in order to secure the slide. 2. The stakes and tabs are provided, but NOT the tape that holds the tabs to the slide. This "customer provided" item is not mentioned on the outside of the box or in the description provided on Amazon. 3. Since I wanted to use the slide right away, instead of after all the kids had gone home, I used cinder blocks and boards to hold the edges down, and this worked fine for the small children on our flat yard. 4. After the party I went to the hardware store and got the Gorilla brand moisture and UV resistant tape recommended in the instructions for the job. It took 2 hours to complete the installation correctly, NOT the 15 min. indicated in the Amazon description. If you bought 10 slides, and were doing the work in a draft free gymnasium, you might get this down to about 30 min. by the time you get the last one done. 5. Since I've not used the slide after installing the tabs, I can't comment on their durability. However, I get the impression from some other comments, that any short cuts, such as just running the stakes through the tabs and then through the plastic, will quickly lead to rips in the plastic. Bottom line: Setting up the Wahii water slide for the first time will take you much longer than 15 minutes, and you must get the right tape beforehand. You can get a 10ft x 100ft sheet of 6mil poly for $60 or 10ft x 25ft roll for $25 with no good way of installing tabs or grommets. Will this last as long as the Wahii water slide when its properly installed? Probably not. Is the Wahii package worth the 100-200% premium over the homemade slide? Its your money, you decide.

Fun for all ages
We purchased this water slide in 2010 to use for a 8 year old birthday party. It is still the first thing our kids ask for when the weather warms up. We get it out at least every other week during the summer. There are a few small tears where the top of the slide got tripped on while someone was running full speed to slide, but the tabs work very well to hold the slide in place and the duct tape usually rips rather than the tarp when it gets tugged on too hard. We usually set ours up on our flat back yard with two sprinklers to keep it wet. The kids try to run and jump fast enough to slide all the way to the other end. It is wide enough for racing which is fun. We set it up on a hill one time, which was better for those of us who don't like running and jumping head first. Friends and family from age 1 to adult have found fun ways to slide and play with this giant slide.

Good great for family fun
I had a bigger water slide that was pretty good. It was the longer one, same brand. I got this one so it wouldn't take up so much space and easier to set up and take apart... but... this one wasn't worth the money to me. I got this big one so that I could slide on it with my kids, but it wouldn't work for me. I even soaked it in baby oil and used plenty of water, but it just wouldn't stay slick enough. The steaks/staples that held down the plastic were good, but the plastic ripped easily. I, as a single dad, like to have fun with my kids while I can, but this was a big let down. Only thing good about it is it shipped quickly. Not buying this again! Very disappointed!

Great outdoor toy!
Having purchased lots of toys over the years for our sons, this is one that they ask for again & again. We purchased the 50 foot slide for our sons 7& 9 yrs old to use on the slope behind our house in 2012. They love it. We use it with the whamo inflatable boogie boards & it's a blast. It's pretty easy to set up, and provides hours of sliding fun. We've had their friends come over & join them sliding & it really wears the kids out. The slide is very durable, takes a lot of abuse. The only issue we had was we bent a couple of the stakes when removing them from the ground, so we just have to be More careful upon removal. We are now wishing we bought the 75 ft slide, instead of the 50 foot version. All in all, an excellent outdoor toy. E.Berger, northern virgina
