If these are made from Stainless Steel, then why do magnets NOT stick to it?

Umm hate to get too nerdy but austinite phase of steel is non magnetic. That’s why with regular steel it isn’t magnetic when it’s hot, the pearlite and martencite phases convert to austinite when heated. Most stainless steel alloys stay in the austinite phase at room temperature hence why it isn’t magnetic. 18-8 isn’t a duplex stainless alloy...

Does anyone know if the 8oz. butane/propane canister fits inside this cooking set, if you remove the 2 plastic cups?

Ditch both cups, get a ss cup (MSR, REI, or WM) that this pot will sit in. Turn the 4oz fuel canister upside down and drop it in the Stanley Pot. Put the pocket stove on top of that. You should have room for a spork, and some spice packs, a little dish soap and a small cleaning cloth. The SS cup is less weight than the plastic ones and you can cook in it. There are several YouTube videos on it.

What is total weight for this set?

Hi Lilly. Cookset weighs a total of nearly 14oz. Without cups a weight of 7.5oz. I ditched the cups to save the weight and gain some room. Also ditched the plastic handle and put a split ring on. Hope this helps. pgorja.

What's the most efficient way to clean the Stanley pot when you have limited resources on extended trips?

CLEANING NOTE: DO THIS WHILE ITS STILL WARM NOT HOT ! Just use dry/ moist sand or dirt to remove soot and anything left inside the kettle then wipe as as much as possible and rinse with clean water..after several camp fire uses mine still looks brand new! You can boil a little water in it to sterilize prior to using again you don't need to carry soap or steel wool and it's not bad for the environment. It's a win win.

Very expensive

The product is actually 15 dollar in the US which literally translates to 1300 rs+- custom which will be like 2000, but here it’s 6000, I’ll urge to Government of India to take cognizance of the situation and redress this issue.
