I did notice that he loved to puck on corners and squeeze behind the sponge ...
This product really worked as described! I am a newbie fish owner, so I have very little experience taking care of my goldfish. However, I noticed that he had some scales fallen out after having him for less than 1 month. I didn't know how he had a few of his scales fallen out since he was in a 30 gallon tank. I have few ornaments in the tank, and there weren't any sharp objects as well. I did notice that he loved to puck on corners and squeeze behind the sponge a lot, so I assumed it may have been from that. So, I went online and started reading up on how to take care of my goldfish and how to help him grow back his scales or prevent more from falling. At this time, I also wasn't sure if he had other diseases as well since this was my first time taking care of a fish. So, I saw and read several reviews on this product using it with the API Melafix where previous customers and experienced fish owners wrote about it helping their fish, as well as, preventing diseases and other ailments. I thought I gave this item a try. It was one of the best products I've bought for my fish. It really helped him healed his scales. I noticed the area where his scales were missing darkened and turned fleshy again. In about 1 week or so, I noticed the area started growing scales already. I am very happy with this item. However, this product is very strong. I have a small, young goldfish in a 30 gallon freshwater tank, with a 50 gallon Aquaclear water filter system, and following the dosages for this product for a 30 gallon tank, I noticed my goldfish acted very agitated to this product. His eyes also started bulging out more. After observing this, I did 25% water change and used half the given dosage. I think this amount was more tolerable to my baby goldfish. I also noticed that my fish scales and fins became silkier after a week of usage. I'm really happy I tried this product out. I would recommend a lower dosage if you have smaller fish. I also recommend to do at least 2 days 25% water change every time you use the product.

I think it works
Some people say that this stuff is snake oil. But I've had good luck with it. I think it actually does work, regardless of what you read on the internet. As does the sister product Melafix.

Pimafix + Melafix for new fish - a MUST HAVE
I recently bought five fairly large fancy goldfish (3 Yuan Bao Orandas-females, 2 Lionchus-males) that were quite expensive. The breeder quarantined them for 14 days before they were shipped but I guess the shipping stressed them out because there was some cotton growth, tiny white ones, on their tail-fins and base of their tails, and one had it on her body. They got fungal and bacterial infections although their tank in my home is clean, salted (1 tbsp per 5 gallons) and disease free. I quickly ordered Pimafix and Melafix although I still had some for 'just in case' so I wasn't surprised by the pepperminty scent. Also, I didn't want the newly established bacteria culture harmed by harsher medicine. I didn't need to remove any active carbon since I didn't put any in the canister filter or HOB but if you do, remove these first! I just have Algone packets in there to keep water parameters stable and water clear. Algone doesn't remove medicine! Already within two days, the two wen-rich Ranchus were swimming happily sans cotton growth, but I kept them in the tank for a week to be sure before putting them into the healthy 'male' tank. Two Yuan-Bao Orandas had it really bad, though. They were floating nose-down. After three days, the red one is healthy and fine. Mousse, the chocolate one, is still struggling with an internal bacterial infection but NO MORE COTTON GROWTHS! I have four more days to go before finishing this treatment after which I'll put in active carbon into the canister filter and do a 30% water change. Pimafix and Melafix really are must-haves for fancy goldfish keepers and serious aquarists! Always have these on hand and use these first before deciding to go for the more harsher medicine like Jungle (now Tetra) Fungus Clear (although this works wonders for more progressed diseases).

Saved my Denison Barb - miraculous product.
This product worked miracles. I have a 140 gallon freshwater community tank that has 3 Denison barbs (aka roseline sharks) among current residents. I’ve had them for a few years and they have gotten quite large (~5”). Recently, out of nowhere, one of them developed white patches on their dorsal side that continued to grow. He began swimming very weirdly, almost standing vertically in one place the entire day. I had lost another one like this a few years back and the local fish store thought it was a bacterial infection and had me treat the tank with some white powdery stuff. It did not work and I lost that one. This patch on this little guy kept getting bigger until it looked like he had a cotton ball on his back, I was really despairing and thought I was going to lose him. Went online and found that the cottony growth was probably a fungal infection, which led me to this product. Raced out to the local store and bought the last bottle they had in stock. Put it in the tank the same day after removing the carbon from my sump. It was truly miraculous that after only 1-2 days of treatment, he started improving, The large external fungal growth began separating from his dorsal side and completely fell off in another day, exposing the damage the fungus had caused. He began swimming much more normally and rejoined his 2 schooling mates as they darted about the tank. Also noticed he began eating again. I continued dosing for a week and then did a 25% water change. He was still not fully healed, his external scales had not grown back, so I have continued dosing for another week and will do a second water change. He continues to heal and is almost back to normal appearance and behavior again. I am so thankful for this product and how well it has worked for my fish. Can’t recommend it highly enough and plan on keeping some in stock.

Spillage of product.
The product came as promised. The only part concerning me was that the inner seal was opened and some of the product spilled onto the delivery package.

Works good to remove ick!
We had noticed a but of ick, fungus film like started appearing our tank and on a couple of the fish as well as our turtle, after reading a few different products we decided to try this one. It is working wonderfully. You could see the ick melting away from the turtle on day 1. We had turned off the filter when we put it in and let it sit for a bit, it made the water a little cloudy, but once we turned the filter back on that was all gone. I believe it was just this doing the job of cleansing the water that made it cloudy. Few days in and everything is gone and looking much better. Water is clear and all the fish/turtle are happy. Theres a very mild scent but it is not strong.
